I would like to make a small recipe containing real butter and also Crown Royale. Has anyone done this? Of course I realize that bringing the whiskey to a boil kills some of it, but I'm thinking that the real flavor would still be there and would also be a preservative for the butter (in the canning process.)

IRISH WHISKEY BUTTER (sweet):

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup Irish whiskey

To make the Irish whiskey butter, place the butter in a mixing bowl and whip until fluffy. With the mixer running, gradually add the confectioners' sugar. Slowly add the Irish whiskey until combined. The mixture may look separated and curdled at first but if you continue whipping, it will come together.

Whiskey Butter Sauce (salty):

1 small onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup whiskey
1 tablespoon whiskey
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 1/2-3 cups unsalted butter (cold - cut up in pieces)

Combine onion, garlic, 1/2 cup whiskey, worcestershire, hot pepper sauce, vinegar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce for 8 to 10 minutes.
Over a low heat, whisk in butter, a few pieces at a time.
Add last Tbsp whiskey.
Sauce consistancy is thin and perfect for a filet mignon or flank steak.

Absolutely.
If you add a bit more whiskey than the recipe calls for, depending on the time that you're boiling, you can reasonably retain some of the kick. Provided of course it doesn't render the flavor overpowering.

You're spot on regarding its preservative quality.

Actually you may cook any Steak or Chicken Breast on a grill pan adding those ingredients, plus garlic, salt and pepper, and 1 tbsp. of olive oil.

Heat the grill pan with the olive oil, rub the meat with the salt and pepper and minced garlic. Add the CR and the Whiskey (Jack Daniels preferably). if desired, you may add fresh mushrooms. Cook to desired term (Done, Rear, Med-Rear, etc)... Turn down the heat and add the one tbps of the butter and keep removing. You may add some flour to add firmness to the sauce.

Granish with fresh rosemary and parsley.

You may also prepare a wide variety of BBQ sauces with Whiskey.
