Put it like this: A cat can learn to run into the kitchen when it hears a tin being opened. It learns very quickly which visitors to the house are "cat people" and will jump on their laps at the least provocation. Cats can learn to do all sorts of things, but they never seem to learn not to stand directly behind people's feet, or actively charge at your feet if they are in your path.

Bluntly, it's not stupidity or apathy, cats actively try to kill their owners purely for the evil pleasure it gives them. I'm not saying they don't have affection for us, it's just that they cave in to temptation too easily.

Sorry to hear about your'accidents'. I have a cat and a dog and although they don't always get on I sometimes feel they do conspire against me. Your cats are probably laughing a little, look out for extra affection as this may be a sign of guilt!!! I don't think this is paranoid either, maybe they were annoyed by an escaping mouse/spider etc. and thought they'd have their fun at your expense! Not really an answer as such just my observation I suppose.

yes blame them, but really you should ave let them out for a pee earlier. Trying to kill you definately if its not a trip down the stairs its up at the juglar vein.

let them out earlier or give them to a good home.

Or are you sitting at your computer? How can you be laid up unless your computer is by your bed or sofa? Don't blame the fury babies for having a sneaky day off.

I'll see you in my office tomorrow

Cats are well known to be psychic so I think they may have been trying to save you from some terrible traffic accident or an encounter with a homicidal maniac or a fatal collision with a train. You should thank them.

They don't mean to but they do injure people by tripping. Mine does the stealth thing in the kitchen so you turn round and either trip over them or stand on them eliciting a huge scream. Either way they are looking for attention and/or food.

Mine dropped my hair scrunchie in the toilet. She is an angry girl sometimes...
