The answer is Yes and NO. Most diets, even the really crazy ones, will allow you to lose weight. But just about all diets that totally exclude some food from your diet fail and you end up gaining more weight back. A sensible approach to losing weight is to eat well balanced meals with normal portions and exercise. This method is proved to be healthy and sustainable. Removing all the fat from your diet may make you lose weight, as long as the portions you eat are normal, but it will be very very hard to sustain because many foods that we eat have fat in them, even some breads.

A fat-free diet won't necessarily produce the best results for you. Usually fat-free foods contain nearly as many calories as normal foods and can actually lead to weight gain. You should instead be watching your calorie intake, this will determine if you lose weight. Do avoid "bad" fats like saturated fat (found in meat and animal products) and trans fatty acids. Unsaturated fats , which are good for you, are necessary for your body. Also, try to avoid simple carbs, found in white bread, potatoes, etc. The most important thing though is to watch your calories, not your fat intake. Eat a balanced diet, watch your portions, and exercise regularly.

Yeah, depending on what your diet was like before, cutting out fat will help. Of course going 100% fat free is not healthy--but finding a little bit of fat is never very hard. One thing about diets that cut out a specific kind of food (at least for me)--they make you crave it even more. I finally lost weight when I stopped dieting and started 1. exercising every morning and 2. eating according to my hunger. A great book I would reccommend if you are serious about weight loss is called "Body Intelligence". It really helped me. Good luck.

Not if you eat tons of sugar or protein! Fat is essential so a total fat free diet is no solution. Learn to eat more healthy from all the food groups and makes sure to include fresh veggies! You can eat as much fresh veggies as you can without gaining weigh and you'll feel full!

No. You have to have fat in your diet. People who do fat-free tend to also NOT count calories thinking that if it's fat-free it must be ok to eat a lot of it. That is very wrong and people tend to GAIN weight on a fat-free diet.

It's very simple. If you burn more calories than you take in, you WILL lose weight.

You can lose weight on ANY diet. As long as you follow the diet, and make any lifestyle changes necessary.

Obviously if you decrease your fat intake, but increase you calories you will still gain weight.

Cutting fat it's not the solution, you have to think about carbs and sugars. You can eat all those things but in moderation (except trans fat, you have to avoid that one at all cost).
See a doctor and/or do your research and try to come up with a balanced diet

Well...try eating low fat instead of fat free. and absolutly less sugar.drink a lot of water..eat a ton of veggies and fruits and whole wheat breads and cereals and nuts are great too.

Eat 6 small meals ...
