needs a bath in warm water may take several times before they are all gone and beware the fleas are going to run to the head ,ears and eye area so have a wash cloth ready to prevent this the fleas will drown and when he gets older if this re-occurs get some frontline or advantage never use hartz products they are pure poision

Advantage, Frontline and Revolution all work well, but do NOT buy them at a store or on line. The market has been flooded with dangerous counterfeits and many cats and dogs have died from their use. Even legitimate retailers have been fooled into carrying these fakes. Buy only from a vet clinic. They get their products directly from a manufacturer's rep, so you can be sure you're getting the real thing.

Also avoid Hartz Mountain and other look-alike products. They're also dangerous and have killed so many pets that last year they were pulled from the market by order of the EPA. Now Hartz has changed the label and brought the stuff back to market, but here's no reason to believe it's any safer.

DO NOT use products you can buy from a store, even pet stores, without a prescription from your vet. Call the vet, tell them what's going on and they will help you. Frontline and Revolution are the best flea products. Flea collars usually don't work. Other products like Hartz are unsafe for cats. Ask your vet about a product called Capstar. This is tablet that kills fleas within 30 min (I think). I think it's pretty safe for young animals.

OH MAN! That sucks. First of all get your kitty out of the house (to the garage, or out front) Fleas are a ***** to get rid of. You HAVE TO vaccum your carpet EVERYDAY multiple times a day......they lay eggs in your carpet. Give kitty a bath starting at his head all the way to his tail, and use a flea shampoo. Then go to the vet and get advantix or frontline or something like that. Flea collars do not work! THey just keep the fleas off of kittys neck, not his whole body, and if a small child is around, he could get sick. Good luck to you and your kitty!

Try washing her in water...it may drown the fleas, if you still have an infestation the doctor can let you know the correct dose to put on a kitten, even at that young an age. I had a mutt that I found and she had 8 puppies who were flea infested and the doc told us to go ahead and use meds because the fleas would cause more damage then the small dose of meds.

Get something from the vets for them, frontline is good cos if they're too young for the spot on you can use the spray but your vet will be able to tell you that. Dont buy flea stuff from pet shops or supermarkets cos they're not strong enough and don't work (most of the time at least.) flea collars don't work either so don't bother with one of them.

1 month old is too young. Fleas can kill a baby that small, where's the mother. Time to get help from the vet.

I used Hartz Advantage and had no problems. The fleas were not only gone from the cat but also throughout the house. Great stuff, a little pricey but very effective.

Have a great day!!!

Flea comb! Available at WalMart or similar in the pet department. It takes a little effort: You comb the fleas loose with the comb, and drop them in soapy water (a bowl with dish soap mixed with water, proportion isn't important, just enough soap to make it soapy). It's also kinda fun, because you get to see the little beggars die! You also get some up close and personal time with your baby angel. Just be careful on his tummy and hind legs, he'll be touchy down there!

Frontline, which is a liquid you put on the skin, may be alright to use, since it says it is safe for puppies and kittens, but I would ask your veterinarian first. A very gentle bath with a mild flea shampoo might be safer for such a young kitten.
