Are you male or female? When I was 19 I did an IQ test and got 138, this is apparently above average for a woman. Work it our from that.

Most IQ tests are scaled so that they take into account the age of the tested person. Therefore, a 118 at age 14 is not the same result on a test that a 118 at age 41 would be. They would be expected to answer different questions at their respective ages. 118 is above average, the theoretical average being 100.
Yes, you can increase your IQ by studying and learning more about people and the world around you. However, we all have different levels of understanding and comprehension so there is a theoretical limit as to how much we can learn and understand. Good luck with your lifelong pursuit of learning and knowledge.
P.S. I tested at 139
So what.

IQ is a test of potential and not ability, some people with very high IQ's never achieve anything and some people with very low IQ's achieve a lot. Your IQ should have nothing to do with age so in theory a test taken at 5 years old should be mirrored at 15 and 50.
The average IQ is 100 so a score of 118 is considered High Average with approx. 16.8% of the population scoring in this region.
Therefore you have the potential to achieve above average things, but this still means you have to work for it!!!
Don't waste it!!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

initially, all an IQ truly does is allow you to understand ways properly you do in IQ checks compared to human beings and that may grant an idea of ways "smart" you're. maximum folk cost between ninety & one hundred ten so 118 is above usually happening. some human beings score very particularly in some parts and poorly in others. even with the indisputable fact that, there are fairly some different elements to consider - one glaring social gathering is those who do not examine properly and frequently do not score particularly even even with the actuality that they could properly be very smart. also, your regular well being & mood can influence your score. for sure taking a attempt on the computer because you sense like that's way less stressful than taking one in a noisy school room once you would possibly want to fairly be putting with your acquaintances. some thing that stressful circumstances you intellectually can help you strengthen the logical, intense wondering skills which will advance your IQ score.

An IQ test is relative to your age so you should always have that same IQ as you get older. anything above 100 is better than average and 118 is quite impresive.

IQ is mental age divided by physical age, therefore you IQ is not likely to deviate more than a few points from its current 118 as you age. (If it does it is much more likely to drop than rise) An IQ of 100 is around average, 118 obviously better than average but its nothing to go arount telling people. Your not quite gifted but your not quite average. Sorry to burst your bubble!

having an IQ of 118 at any age is a good thing - it means your smarter than at least 80% of the people out there if I am not mistaken.

Instead of concerning yourself with a number that means absolutely nothing in the real world, focus, instead, on getting good grades in school, and being a good person. The only thing the score of an IQ test ever did for anyone was to qualify them for organizations like MENSA. Whoop-PEE

Its not too shabby at all, but remember, IQ is simply problem solving ability, intelligence comes in many shapes and forms... Take a absent minded professor, smart but not exactly adjusted to living in the real world!
I did mine a while back, it wasnt a full test that takes hours, but apparently 135. Of course, I am 23 so have had time to develop my problem solving ability that you havent had yet. Chances are I might be working for you some day... in that unlikely scenario remember this day and give me lots of breaks and pay bonuses.

Not really. I had an IQ of 132 at 12. Don't get big headed, you're just slightly above average.
