Yes, I should say a prayer before I eat more often. My family is so blessed to always have food on the table. Every good thing comes from God.

Saying grace before a meal is a time honoured custom in many countries and communities. You must have heard the old saying "The family that prays together stays together". Mealtimes are times when the family, usually, is together, and there is nothing like saying grace before starting the meal. It makes you feel good, too. If sometimes we forget to say grace in our family, my ten year old grandson refuses to start eating.

We are blessed to be able to have enough food. It is sacred because it nurishes our mind and body and soul. People should think about that when they waste food out of gluttony. They should think about the starving people who would kill for some plain old rice that we would probably overlook for the fancy filet minon.

Oh, dear heart. You never need a reason to pray, and you most definitely never need to ask permission. God bless you for your honesty and ability to be so open. I wish that there were more people in the world like you. Peace and blessings.
