Go to a tattoo palor and ask to look at the different types of writing that they have. They will show you and then pick what you like or draw it out the way you want it and show it to the person doing your tattoo.

I think cursive would look nice. Its flowy and gives me the feeling of freedom....if thats what your going for with "freebird" (check out the cursive of Ashlee Simpsons wrist tattoo of "love" http://music.aol.com/photo-galleries/rock-tattoos-ashlee-simpson?ncid=AOLMUS00050000000045) also, try writing it out in word and try different fonts, whatever jumps at you will be the best choice.
I'm currently trying to decide whether to get my tattoo on my inner wrist or back of the neck too. i'm not really feeling the inner elbow, but thats just me. I think Christina Aguilera has one there though.
So far, i'm kinda thinking more the neck. You can cover it up by wearing your hair down or if you feel like showing it off you can wear your hair up. even if you wearing a sweater you can still show it off.
The wrist, you can cover up by wearing a watch, plus its more of a visible reminder, unlike the neck which you'll never really see too much. but it is harder to cover up.
You should decide if this is a tattoo that you want to see daily or if your fine just knowing its there. If you want to see it or maybe if it serves a purpose to remind you of something important, then a more visible spot like the wrist or elbow would be better. But beware, it MAY get in the way of jobs and cause bad 1st impressions...
I think i'm going for the neck though b/c it'll be my 1st and i really dont want my mom seeing it...lol. the 2nd will be on the wrist though.

How big is it going to be?? I would say the wrist would be fine if you can cover it up with something like a watch (tattoo's don't make for good job interviews)
Inner elbow does not sound appealing to me.
The back of your neck would be nice, esp if you can cover it up with your hair when you need to.

Go to the tattoo parlor and look at the flash. That will give you some good ideas as to what you would want.
I see that some of you don't know that "flash" is what the samples are called in a tattoo parlor...duh

well what kind of person are you.Do you like cursive or old english text? Make the tattoo on powerpoint or paint or word and change the font to see what you want.I did that to my tattoo. I had probably about 70 different versions of the same tattoo.

I would get it on the wrist. The lettering..........I would go to the tattoo artist and take a look at all the kinds of lettering. Just ask them and they'll show you tons of lettering! Good Luck!

Arabic writings look really nice, as most people commonly lean towards chinese writings. Arabic looks more erotic (if that's what you're into). As for where to get it, I would definatly say wrist, since it means so much to you... show the world!

"freebird" in a fancy script, like cursive handwriting would be cool around your wrist like a bracelet.
