Do you have anything like a salvation army in your area? If so go there. Or go to a church and ask for help. Most churches know about charities that can help. And no matter what don't be ashamed. everyone needs help sometimes.

So what is your priority??? Beds or Christmas presents.
Going to a thrift store is an excellant idea! Pay your bills! Sometimes talking with utility Co. helps, their not heatlesss, They will play lets make a deal. I can pay this now, and some more later. Christmas is going to be what you make it, it can be awful, cuz Mom is bumming,,no Christmas presents or Mom can get real creative and make a wonderful Christmas, How about this year you and your children give instead of get!! Pack up old sweaters, sweatshirts, blankets.shoes, bake some cookies and go out there and make a very merry Christmas for some family, or individual that has even less than you!!! Any Church or Salvation Army, or homeless Shelter would love to see you and your children celebrating the REAL meaning of Christmas!!! The family or person you help will never forget, and neither will your children!!!

As for the beds think about repainting them or get just the oldest a new or used bed and pass the other ones down. You don't have to have brand new beds all the time. Now for Xmas gifts cut down on how much they get and ask the local red cross or church for help. The impotent thing about Xmas is that you are all together. You could all so make some of the gifts you give your kids.

These are some superb websites you can go to & get free things or anything at a low, low price. Go to www.craigslist.com, select your state, your city, then choose either the word "free" or baby+kids, or furniture, or anything. Anything you can ask for they have it on craigslist. Also there's a yahoo group that's called freecycle, it's all free stuff, there's no money involve at all. It's mostly moms who no longer want certain things because their children have outgrown it & they place it on freecycle for any other member and vice versa. I'm a member of freecycle-miami 'cause I live in miami. You'll find plenty of things there. Again, go to yahoo & press "groups" that's on the left hand side and take it from there. Good luck & God bless.

Ikea always has great deals on new beds (about $100 each) Also, you could get them a futon insteand of beds...they're cheaper. Xmas presents need not be expensive, don't sweat the small stuff. It's better if your kids have somewhere to sleep.

I know it is hard to take handouts but you need to do so for the sake of your kids. Check around with local organizations and Church's and see what help is available for your family. There are usually programs that you can get into that will help provide everything from basic needs to xmas presents for your family. Good luck...
