How would you go about starting a conversation that would lead to whether or not a co-worker was attracted to you or not if you had the opportunity to generate such a conversation. . . ???

Just go slow and get to know them and give them a chance to know you. Get a group together for lunch or for after work drinks and invite this co-worker along. Take the opportunity then to slowly work in personal questions and then when the time is right you ask them out to do something with just you and see where things go from there.

Start a simple conversation and see if you get his attention and if he is willing to take the time to talk to you. If he does then he is interested if not then keep moving. Some guys as well as women don't like to mix flirtation with work and like to keep things out of the office. But you will never know unless you try. Attempt an attack at a time when he is not busy so as not to keep him from working. Sometimes a silly remark at a stressful time will bring a smile to his face and it shows that your intrested and care about him. Guys appreciate that

Make sure he's not dating anyone first. You don't want to intrude or make something bad happen. But make sure he's alone with you and no one can hear. Just casually one day tell him that you like his tie........then lead to.....you look very handsome today.......then, you smell so good, what is that??? So that should give you a sign if he's interested. If he doesn't start making comments to you, then let it go and keep saying good morning or whatever. Make him notice you!!!!!!

No. You're seriously asking for it. If you want to date the coworker, you'd better quit first...lol.
Not so much because of any real problems that might come up - although that can definitely happen - but the perception alone is enough to make others want to cause trouble for you.
