How would I go about telling my mother that the man she is with is nothing but trash and does not deserve her?

Tell your mom only if you are absolutely certain of the facts and have sufficient evidence to prove it. When you have piled up the necessary evidence, you shall automatically get the confidence of confronting your mom.
