In some ways yes, in others no. You could meet someone from a foreign place nowadays much easier than any other point in human history. You could also meet someone in more extraneous situations, like a sky diving class, rather than a town festival, like 50 years ago. And yet, people are still relatively the same. Guys are still as cheesy and women just as availible. But true love has never changed. Also, more is expected of the willingness of the people to engage in sexual activity. Like a first date in these times has a huge possiblity of ending with a kiss or sex, while so many years ago, there would be at least 2 or three dates before the guy could put his arm around a girl at the movies. Things have changed a lot.

Yes, and no. Today, there are new ways to meet people. Internet, speed dating, things unheard of in the fifties and sixties. But people still meet in the same ways, through communities, churches, workplaces. Women being more independent now, the dates might be initiated by either party and be shared financially. The big difference is that now when dating, one knows the divorce statistics!!

Yes it is different and still the same. The media has made it look different with the speed dating and these types of Internet sites with one look you are sweept off your feet.
I find that the good old method of dating are much better becuase people meet in normal circumstances and the relationship builds on credibility - person to person expereince but not a credibility built for someone by the media because he or she looks like this or like that while they are sleeping.

Its different because in todays world you have to be really careful. For some reason people today are a lot stranger and weird than they used to be. You can't trust anyone you don't know. I used to be able to walk to school when I was a kid, and now I wouldn't think of letting my daughter do that.
