Why do parents be shock when they find out their kids are having sex?

Dads are never shocked to hear about their sons.
Dads never want their daughters to ever have sex.
Moms are always shocked.

Because they want to think their kids were raised to wait! That is not always the case these days! In the older days if you didn't have a child before you were 14 yrs old and married you were considered to be an old maid! The kids today are usually left home alone so they will do what they want to. And if they are dating they will have sex and think they are old enough to do so! My parents were not shocked when they found out I was having sex at 16. The same with my sisters! If you have teenagers you need to expect for them to be doing it! That is where the parent is supposed to have the Birds and bees talk with their child! Then again kids are getting younger and younger and are having sex. Parents need to be involved with their kids to prevent this from happening!

Because sexual purity is the last thing their child could have. Once that is lost, their child is now exposed to hundreds of problems.

Think about it--you raised your kid to avoid sex until marriage. You raised your kid to avoid sex until at an appropriate age at least. At 15/16 she decides to have sex? That means STDs, pregnancy, and loss of innocence.

I would be upset too! I don't want to be a grandmother at the age of 40, nor do I wish my daughter a deadly STD.

I won't go into my sex lecture, but at 15/16 you REALLY aren't ready for the emotional and physical responsibilities involved with sex.

My ex husband told me the other his daughter started the pill at the age of 14. I was shocked cause at that time we were all living at same house and I can tell you she was a KID on all senses of the world. She would fight her sister for candies and cry if my husband would not let her buy any new miniatures for her baby animals collection. Anyway, it was her mom who has put her on the pill and my ex sounded comf with that also. I have just told him: "I still love and care for her. Tell her about AIDS too. Pill is not enough". That is all I could do.

Or maybe for the same reason most kids are shocked when their parents have sex...

Parents like to see their kids like people who don't have sex, the same way kids look at their parents...

Well, probably because if they are kids they should not be doing such an adult thing. STD'S, Pregnancy are the two major factors, When people are young, they don't think anything bad will happen to them. Parents know better. They want their children to wait until they are mature enough to make the decisons that adults do.

now c'mon what parent wants to accept that their kids are having sex? They be shock because most of them want there kids to be virgins when they get married. sex is soo overrated that they shouldn't be like that any more, but some are still old fashioned. U can't change em.

Because no parent wants to hear that their child is out there having sex. There are so many diseases out there now, plus the thought of their child becoming pregnant or getting someone else pregnant. Not to mention it shows their child is no longer the innocent little kid that they once were.

beacuse they know how they were when they had sex they feel like the kids will make the same mistake, but come on who wants 2 turn out like there parents , we are alot smarter than they will ever be about life,lol i have a 5 yr old that says that 2 me already.
