I would just do a happy b/day theme.....that is what she's having....i guess if you wanted you could do like a "costume b/day party" that would be kinda cool.

I love the Halloween theme, but you should consider what your mother's like and dislikes are. If you surprise her with the little things she has hinted to throughout your life, she would be thrilled. But then again, she's your mom and moms love anything that their children do for them to show their appreciation for her. Think hard, but have fun. She'll enjoy anything you do for her.

Mommy I Wish
Mommy I wish I could put this in grown up words,
so you would really understand how much you mean to me.
I know I’m just a little girl right now,
and I don’t know all the things you need.
I wish I could pick you up and hold you,
like you do when I’m hurt or feeling sad.
‘Cause I know sometimes it’s hard for you,
to punish me, when I’ve been bad.
I wish I could give you all the things we need,
and I wish I could go to work for you.
So you could stay home and play,
and do the things you like to do.
Mommy I love you, and I’m so proud too,
and wish that all the little kids in the world,
could have a mommy, just like you.
Mommy do you know my biggest wish of all?
for all that you do.
I wish and I pray everyday,
that I will grow up, and be just like YOU.

oh wow thatz my daughter's b-day too..she turning 1...
i think u should do a birthday theme..invite her best friends and family according to your budget.
ask someone to take your mom out while u decorate the house and guest are there...then when u'r mom return surprise her..
surprice!!!!!
u can decurate it with birthday theme..buy birthday ballons, plates etc.. and ask your guest to dress up..then it'll be kinda both..enjoy the b-day and also halloween..

What about a fall theme- candles and chai tea and coffees and spicy themed breads and cookies and stuff- Ive been reading about spa parties where you all have fun and get facials and relax- you could get her a footbath too and enjoy all of it with her- I bet like mine- she doesn't treat herself enough. Happy Birthday to her!
