Brian it depends if this is your daily sleep pattern or just a friday night thing? A sign of depression is too much sleep and yes 15-16 hours a night every night would be considered too much sleep. The average adult without kids gets between 5 - 8 hours a night.

Not really. It depends on sleeping habits during the week. If she's getting three hours of sleep a night, then her body is tired. However, the amount (15-16) is a bit much. 12 sounds a bit better, maybe even more normal. For example, I get about 6 hours of sleep a night during the week and then about 12 on Fri and Sat nights.

well, the average of sleep to keep healthy would be 7/8 hours...man u sleep alot! I use to sleep like 18 hours a day in the christmas holidays!
I dont think 15-16 hrs of sleep is extreme but maybe you should wake sleep earlier and then you'll wake up earlier with a happier mood!

First, it may depend on what type of work your girlfriend does - if it is a stressful occupation, she may feel it necessary to catch up on rest. However, chances are, there's more than just a physical need for sleep at play here. Forgive me for saying this, but there may also be psychological forces at play, as well. Your girfriend may be depressed, may be suffering from anxiety, or may have some other psychological need to escape from the world for 15 hours. I've gone through periods in my life in which the time I was asleep was the happiest time of my day.

Sometimes it can be rejuvenating... I NEED to sleep more...for some reason I have had a STRANGE sickness ...a virus like thing which prevents me from getting a good nights sleep.... THE SHINING..... it is odd....in the darkness...
But, what is ideal as far as sleep will depend on each person, so in reality there is no clear answer for each person. Roughly speaking I think 9-10 hours of good sleep is good ....

Yes it is extreme. An adult should get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night. Anything more than that and you are missing life.

Hi there.
Extreme? Depends on what is really going on.
She might be suffering from exhaustion or possibly even depression. Prior to jumping to a conclusion, perhaps you might gently suggest that she have a physical (you could even offer to accompany her) just to make sure that she's not suffering from something such as anemia which would naturally cause her to be more tired.
Another possible cause is that she is not sleeping well enough to actually feel rested.
If this might be the problem, try to elimate excess lights and noise and try to cut back on caffeine atleast four hours prior to bedtime.
Good luck to you both.

That is way way too much especially for someone in the prime of their physical life. I would definitely go to the doctor and let them know that. You maybe losing sleep over the course of the week and it is adding up on the weekend.

because of the fact nanny bottle feeds, your infant has gotten used to the 'speedier' grant of milk from a bottle. She provides up after 10 mintues of breast feedinb becuase she's no longer getting that individual same prompt gratification. She's additionally no longer eating sufficient, the two becuase this is basically 10 minutes and because she's hungry an hour later. (and because she's sucking so complicated on pacifier, it greater heavily resembles the bottle, it is what she needs.) If I have been you, i could change and basically pump and bottle feed her. in case you particularly need the bonding of bf'ing, you may initiate her on breast and then end with bottle. in case you realy dont desire to try this, you may desire to paintings with the aid of and get her to breast feed longer. rub down her cheeks, tickle her ft, etc...shop her wakeful and eating...and dont supply her that pacifier until she's had sufficient.

Yes. it is laziness. You cannot "catch up" on sleep. This is a way of avoiding engaging in other activities. OR, she may be doing something on Friday nights that makes her sleep this long- like drugs, or hi powered sex.
This type person will sleep their lives away, and never amount to much.
