Hi there.
It is common for teen and preteen girls to get hung up on weight.
I have a 14 year old daughter who is a gymnast and even she is concerned about it.
The medical guideline for healthy weight (for a female) is for every inch over 5' tall you add 5 pounds to a hundred pounds. Since you didn't mention her height, I can't help you with the math but let's say she is five feet tall then she would be a pound under weight.
Do remember that muscle weighs more than fat and is very dense and size is deceptive when you are talking about being physically in shape.
As long as she is eating healthy and getting atleast 30 minutes of excercise three times a week (I am assuming that she does PE atleast three times a week in school), and she is not eating more in calories than she is spending on activities, she is perfectly within or possibly under her ideal weight.
Tell her that either way, beauty is only skin deep and good luck.

If she is around 5' ft or 4'9 or 5'1 or 2 and weighs 99 then she is fine. But keep in mind she is only 11 years old and probably hasn't started puberty yet and she still has baby fat. So she is fine as long as she exercises and eats healthy.

Sounds like your friend is nothing but a healthy girl.
Many kids add a few pounds around that age in preparation for a growth spurt. Give it a year or two and your friend will add about 3-5 inches to her height and maybe 10 pounds. She will blossom into a beautiful young lady.
Tell her to stop worrying and enjoy her youth and remember, we are all our own worst critics.

It depends on how tall she is. According to body mass index, if she is less than 4 ft 5 inch then she is overweigh. If she is 4 ft 6 inch to 4 ft 9 inch she is at risk for being overweigh. But, if she is 4 ft 10 inchs or taller then she is at a healthy weight.

Everybody is different. Sounds like "baby fat". It also sounds like your friend is looking at too many TV shows with perfect looking women. They aren't real.
99 lbs is nothing to worry about at her age. Also, at this age girls are starting to get figures, so they get a little more fat on the butt, hips, tummy, eventually boobs too. Its normal.

WAY too young to worry about weight.
Unless she is 3 feet tall, no....99 pounds is NOT fat.

No, she is not overweight. Secondly, she is just 11 and very soon she will lose baby weight and will become thinner. Therefore, there is absolutely no fear.

It mostly depends on her body type and height. It is a little early to be to concerned about weight but never to early to be concerned about her eating habits.
