Do you know what he draws for her$$$$
Lets say he draws $500. I would leave things the way they are becuase you said her was a good DAD .. so I am assuming he probably spends money on her too when she is with him... Next what if he is only getting $300. then you piss him off by you getting the control of the check $300. check... your lossing a $100. and probably cause some friction betweem you and him... I don't know... I need more info... Good Luck anyway!!!

That could happen, the support is based on his income. They keep a handling fee, or a portion of what they would take from him. If you feel he is giving a fair amount in child support I wouldn't push the issue. Are you disabled so that you can't work? Medical insurance is not affordable for many people. Your best chance is through an employer and many of them have made big cuts in their medical coverage due to costs. My heart goes out to you. Something has to be done so all people can have affordable medical care. Do not give up there has to be a way to get coverage.

My husband had to go to court for the same reason his ex had their childrens medical through the state, and they have a verbal agreement for child support. When they went to court they said they have a verbal agreement and the judge just said that if medical becomes available through my husbands work he must cover the children. Because she wasn't on public assistance just medical they didn't do anything concerning the child support. This is in a different state though.

Yes they will take your money away. If there is a father it is required by law for him to have a court ordered child support in place. The state will not pay for your daughter when there is a father who should be paying child support. I understand he does but it has to go through the court system . They will take your money and could make him repay what they have payed you.

You are a normal person like..."us all". That is not your money, that is your parents money, you are just getting the benefits of their hard work. Loosing the money is not your problem, you are. You know, if you have a hard time making friends, mom and dad is gone all the time and you can make most of the choices that you want, how about volunteering? You would not believe how many hospitals with children who are dying of cancer, or nursing homes with folks whose kids don't come to see them because they are too busy or don't care. Put yourself into being useful to others. Help others. Remember Princess Di? Remember how she was so rich and powerful yet she chose to spend her time not taking about how rich she was, but of helping those who couldn't help themselves. Why Not? What do you have to loose? Good Luck to you and God Bless

I'm confused, if her father is faithfully paying you 400 dollars a month, why are you asking the state for more money??? Sorry I really don't understand your question.

They don't where I live (I used to supervise these cases)....don't know about Florida.
He's been paying $400 per month for eight years with no increase?
It isn't like you are doing it because you don't trust him....you have to have health insurance....suppose you trip and break your toe even? That would cost $500.
Or, you can get a full-time job with your own benefits...good luck in today's economy!

No, just let them know you two have an agreement for $400/month and they will keep it that way. If he is lucky he might be able to have it taken out of his check before taxes and this way he would bring home more money for himself!

If he has been faithfully giving you child support he should have no problem agreeing to that in family court and making it legal.
If.

you are only allowed to receive 28% of his pay check, and he would be responsible for covering at least 1/2 of the medical.
