Is that a month or a week? Although, that doesn't really matter, since you are the one raising your daughter, you have to decide if that is enough. Plus you need to consider if the Dad helps out on other things, doctor bills, school clothes...etc.

That sounds good. I was getting $600 a month for three kids. The courts take the income of the payee (in your case, the child's father) and whether they have other children that there is an order of support for when determining how much the court order for support will be.

a lot of people would consider $400.00 plenty of money to get for one child. It does however depend on how much your ex makes and what you earn as well. I know my sister didn't get that much for 4 kids so consider yourself lucky if your getting this much. Then again, I'm not in your shoes and only you and your daughter know if it's enough...

That's more than enough.Except if your kid needs special care or if her dad makes more money now then when they set the child support. If that's what they set, then it's enough.Child support is suppose to cover only 25% of the child's expenses.I doubt that you spend $1,200.00 a month on your kid to cover the other 75%.So don't complain,I only get $100.00 a month for a 4 year old.

I would think so - I mean, how much does an 8 year old need for one month? I think it also depends on how much the father makes, too. Compare it to how much of her expenses come out of your pocket. If it's the same, it's good. But if you're chipping in a lot more, then you should ask for more from the father.

Yeah that would be nice considering I raised 6 kids myself since 1991 and never got a penny in child support in all that time!

It depends on the salary. It is a percentage of what the father makes. But I would have loved to see $400 a month when my sons father was alive.
I got $100/month (and still do from his parents). I remember he didn't have any cash one week so he gave me a bag of weed. I asked him how that was supposed to help feed our son.

It does depend on where you live. But my 8 yr.old grandson gets 300 a month and I find it very reasonable. His parents got their divorce papers from the library and did all the paper work theirself. The judge told him,he could do better. So the judge considered it high.

Depends on what state you live in, and what his income is. I get more than that for my 6-year-old son, but I live in CA where income is high. $400 is a good amount though.

Like others have said, it really depends on his income. I know someone who is paying well under $400 for 2 children.
