ok.. recap.. Its been bugging me awhile now. My bf and I have been together for 6 months. We are inseparable. It was love at first sight. The one thing that bothers me is that not once has he called me "hot". Why? Cuz he calls me beautiful instead. I would get all dressed up to go out, and he calls me beautiful. "You look so beautiful". When I'm in barely nothing, but lingerie, he call's me beautiful. He calls his friends' girlfriends, hot. Or an acquaintance, she's hot. I've seen these girls, and they're not a looker. But this is driving me insaneee!!!! And its killing my confidence & self-esteem. What is really the difference, between HOT and BEAUTIFUL?? =(

I see where you are coming from with this, but I would not be worried, coming from the mind of a guy, I would tend to think that hot could be reserved some passsin fancy or what not, beautiful is ten times more enduring, and I would imagine that is the case, hot might also be a little more slutty or something and he does not want to offend you by using it or if not slutty impersonal like calling a girl a chick, faceless girls are hot, but ask him I am sure he has an explanation and will not be offended

Girls that are beautiful are automatically hot, I suppose, but the vice versa is not true. Plus, I am not at all attracted to girls who wear slutty clothes or dye their hair bubblegum pink. Thought I'd say that.
A hot girl is primarily someone whom you just want to get into bed with. When I lay my eyes on a hot girl, my first instinct is to go all stiff down there and start the drooling; there's little to no respect for these women, only superficial lust and desire. Hotness is based more on the body than on the face or mind. These girls pop up all the time in pornography.
A beautiful girl has more approachable, down-to-earth looks, and of course, inner beauty (though if you're talking about a celebrity whom you have a crush on, then I guess the inner stuff is pretty much a no-go). She IS hot, but you appreciate her for more than her body; you enjoy her voice, her laugh, and the way she walks down the sidewalk. In cases where a girl is REALLY beautiful, my first instinct is not to get an erection, but instead to get that warm & fuzzy feeling inside. Beauty gives off a "nicer" vibe then hotness.
An extreme example: sex. When you have sex with a hot girl, you just go at her like a wild animal, and when you're done, you just want to get the heck outta there. Not a whole lot of kissing either, just every position you can think of. When you have sex with a beautiful girl, you kinda go gentle on her, and stick to a quieter approach, with a lot more kissing. When you're done, you want to stay there and cuddle, and maybe wait until morning to get the heck outta there.

I think as a man, that the term hot, is a female that has the "It might be fun to get in her pants" quality. But I think when a man loves and respects the woman he's with, he doesn't think of her in those terms. For me, the most awsome woman in the world is my wife, and she is so beautiful! I say this because when I met her she was so HOT! and now that I know her "The Hot" is nothing compared to her beauty... I hope this helps. Daniel.

Beautiful is either game or showing you respect. Hot is so easy to say!! Guys say a girl is hot to their friends so their friends don't feel bad about the oinker they brought home!! Take into consideration that he probably doesn't say HOT because he knows that he uses as an everyday word for his friends girls and doesn't want to put you in the same category. Ask what HOT means to him and go from there.....I have a feeling that you shouldn't be upset you should feel loved and charmed!!

To be honest, that should be a compliment. To be hot means the perception of beauty is one dimensional. He can only see them as physically attractive. But someone who is beautiful, well, that means that are attractive on multiple levels (intellectually, physicaly, emotionaly, etc.).
I would rather date a beautiful woman than some hot girl, and I can guarentee your boyfriend feels the same.

Beautiful, to me, is a word that is more timeless. Being beautiful means no matter what you do to your hair, clothing, makeup, you are still BEAUTIFUL. And that word goes deeper than skin and clothing
Hot is more of the trendy attractive, it's the type of attractive that will go out of style tomorrow and it's the type of attractive that is fake. It's just the outside you see in 'hot' girls
I would prefer beautiful to hot any day.

What turns one on is hot! What is pleasing to the eye is beautiful. It is possible to transform from one to another by suitably changing your get up. Not a big problem. You can manage it. Ask your friends or observe those whom your bf calls hot!

Hot is something that's in the moment. I think what your boyfriend doesn't think hot is as great as beautiful. To him, hot cools over time while beautiful is eternal. You wouldn't say that the Mona Lisa was hot, she's beautiful and you should think of yourself the same way.
