Is it Possible to create A Matrix like World?
In the Future perhaps.

Certainly, it's theoretically possible.

It might even be desired, as machines become more intelligent and take over more and more of the drudgery of our workaday lives.

But I expect it wouldn't be a world just like this one, where we're "virtual" working stiffs; it'd be more like the current MMORPG's, only much more immersive -- we'll be kings and superheroes and gods of our little worlds, not ordinary shlubs....

In a spiritual form many analogies of The Matrix have and do exist; as already noted by another responder. I would suggest that the human situation is worse and more complex than The Matrix.

It is more subtle than the Matrix and requires prophetic revelation to escape from it. Once out, there is another playing field where all the words of Scripture begin to make immanent sense.

Are you missing the best and only game in town?

yes, Matrix like world is possible in its exact meanings. Virtual reality is something that is virtual and lets you feel real. You know about your surroundings because of your senses. You think you are reading this answer, because of your senses. Think if all this is an illusion created by a VR device. Your eyes are looking whatever the signals your brain recieves, whether real or created. You touch and know that the object is hard or soft because of the nervous system spread all over your body skin. If Somebody controls your brain to emulate the senses of hardness, softness, cold, hot, etc... emotions, love, feelings. yes even that is possible. We all are defined in numerics. So are our feelings and emotions. Its understanding makes me more happy. Best wishes to you.

Never will man be able to create nature as it is nature that "inter alia" has created man and all that is in the Universe . Nature is still evolving and it will never rest ,It woudl nver be destroyed too as it has its origin itself in a nuclear reaction that was several zillion times greater than what the mosquittoes were able to create in this tiny grain in the sands on the beach of nature. Nothing can eitehr create or destroy the world or the universe .No hair on our head has created us .It is our body that has created the hair .It can denude it also .But the hair can not denude the body.
Man in his ignorance , can assign so many duties , according to his fancy , for the God to perform like his servant. But God will continue to perform his duties in his own way that is inscrutable to the ignorant man who dose not wher he came from and where he is heading to.

My guess is no. I don't think we can develop a sophisticated enough artificial intelligence that would synchronize with our natural intellect in a way that would create a Matrix.

Parallel symbolism. As the body is to the matrix, so your soul is to the spiritual dimension.

It's there if you recognize it, but you must be born again - in the spirit to see...

According to the theory they presented in the Movie, Yes. I think it is possible. But it wouldn't have the same effect as you watched in the movie. That's gonna be similar to the concept of the movie "13th Floor".
