Surprisingly little. If it's a local/ budget airline they start on like £15,000 a year. Don't go up very fast either. Then even big, longhaul airlines probably start around £18,000 and you work your way up. And the hours are weird too, you might have to do three days on, four days off, and take days off on the other side of the world. Benefits- obviously free flights. But watch out for lines like Ryanair- you might as well work for a bus company.

I went thru flight attendant hiring & if you can speak more than 1 language, it's more pay also more pay if-you've done volunteer work (have to prove it),if you are a nurse or a nurse assistant, have some college, having no idle spaces in your work resume-if so needs to be a reasonable cause.

At interview was
called upon in huge room with 100 or so going thru interviews to speak-tell about your life from childhood up to present. At this interview they told us would start alphabetically (last name),so I'm a B & thought oh goody, I know there are a few "A"s" in here--wrong I was the 1st called, I got a standing ovation from whole room. You will also be handed a card to make announcement as if you were an attendant on the job already. I was excepted by 2 airlines but turned them both down half way thru because after I choose my hub (move to this place), they changed my choice and ordered I move elsewhere & I would not, that was suppose to be my choice. I was getting stared at $18,000 yr, and would go into overtime at a layover due to being away from hub,so it could have been at least another $5000 per yr. You can also put yourself on a "fill-in" list when the other Flt attendants want off.
Go to you fav airline- mine is USAire & Delta & go to careers, opportunities, etc. They tell you where they are hiring and the process takes at least 3 months for training. I did get a call back last year that if I'd changed my mind & return they'd except me back,so they are flexible. Good Luck with an exciting life of air travel.
