my husband mom died 2 days ago. i asked my man about it but he don't wanna talk to me, he feels upset. do they prepare funerals like catholic people or is it different.

It's not very much different. They give a bath to the dead, then pray for him/her, which is called Janazah Prayer (Prayer for the Dead). They put the body inside white cloth and then put it in the grave. Again, pray for him/her.
For women, only "Mehram" (Father, Brother, or Son, if there is any) is supposed to put the body inside the grave. If your husband can't go over there, I can understand he would be more than upset, as he has the responsibility to put her into the grave.

They do not put any foreign substances into the body like embalming fluid. The body is washed and covered in only a shroud. This is because they believe you should leave this world the same way you came in They are buried without a coffin, on their side because they need to be facing Mecca.

well we wash the body 3 times and then cover it in a new and clean white sheet. and we then place it in a coffin. when we bury them in the grave -- we take out the coffin and just bury the body. then we have a prayer just like preist does. but in addition, we have a Janazah Prayer -- asking Allah to forgive the deceased and so that the soul will rest in peace.

We Muslims wash the body of our deceased cover the body with a special garment & bury the body often without a coffin so it may truely be returned to the earth.

The same. just muslims put the naked body which is dressed by a special white dress and there will be no coffin.
