I noticed an education is frowned upon by Christians unless you go to a private non accredited school like Dominion College ran by Casey Treat in WA State
you get a certificate of dogma not education
and yes, it will drag us backwards away from progress of crusades and jihads

Yes.
Read the book "Letter to a Christian Nation." To mention only one minor point, it's more than a little disturbing when 44% of grown adults here in the 21st century actually expect "The Rapture" to occur within their lifetimes. When people assume the world is inevitably coming to an end, they tend to be less responsible about crazy heathen concepts like, oh I don't know, a stable MidEast. Global warming? Shlobal warming. Ever hear of a self-fulfilling prophecy? Pretty scary when the "prophecy" involves the "End of Days."

Science is a gateway to the wonders of god. Not all christians are literalists. You can believe the word is inspired and divine, yet still believe that alot of it is symbolic and metaphors. Sure, it is possible that the whole universe was created in 6 days since everything is possible with god, but it is highly improbable. Science and religion should never be so polar opposites.

It seems that they are. They don't like evolution, psychology, geology, archaeology, biology, astronomy, or even history because so very much of each of these sciences contradicts and frankly disproves the Bible. "Evolution's just a theory", they say. The electric theory is just a theory, but it seems to work. There is so much hypocrisy tied up, viz, they have NO problem putting 150 million year old petroleum in their cars (and what does the Bible even say about Cars for God's sake!) yet the Bible makes it clear the world, and therefore petroleum, can't be older than 6,000 years. They are silly and childish and hypocritical. It is incredible to even be having discussions about the validity of evolution in the 21st century, let alone having science banned from schools because they find reality offensive to their religious hypocrisy.

I don't see what that proves.
The Catholic Church embraces Science and education, many of our early colleges were started by the Catholic Church.
We embrace freedom of Religion.
It is our belief that killing an unborn baby is Murder, but that is a justifiable position, you can agree or not agree, but that is hardly dragging anyone into the dark ages.
It is not like we are against Electricity, Cars, Education, Travel, Free Speech (although pornography should be kept from our youth).
It seems like an over-reaction to me.
Peace, and God Bless you!

people tend to lump all Christians mutually... i'm a Christian and that i could be the 1st to confess that fanatical, pushy, over-the-suitable Christians, nonetheless their hearts could (or won't) be in the main remarkable place, somewhat get on my nerves. I particularly tend to word a trend in that most of the pushiest Christians i comprehend are doing it for the incorrect motives, and maximum of it stems from a "holier-than-thou" form of self righteousness... no rely if or no longer they're basically attempting to earn brownie factors from God or they only think of that all of us could be like them, i do no longer comprehend... yet I do see that rather some situations those all of us is stressful sufficient that they are particularly pushing countless people removed from the religion... back, I basically comprehend a pair of those people... have confidence me, we aren't all like that.

True Christians are not trying to drag anyone anywhere. They are opposed to evolution because it is not supported by the Bible. But they do not force others to change their beliefs. If a person insists that human evolved from apes, that's his peogative.

No, that honor would fall on the modern skeptics, who say there is nothing that is real. This causes people to cling to backward beliefs that help them deal in reality.
We need to support the idea that everything is real, even ethics, for they support our lives. And then God will wither and die on the vine.

Who ever said that all Christians believed so firmly in creationism? I think that the theory of evolution sounds most logical, and I'm a Christian.

Ah ... the age of enlightenment. How great it is to exault man as the pinnacle of life... hurrah for humanism. Man who crawled out of the slime and goes to nothing... but who gladly accepts the credit for all accomplishments, who glorifies himself for all that is right in the world and who blames God for all that is wrong.
