Infants under the age of 6 months do not need anything but formula and/or breast milk. Young babies have a risk of getting water intoxication since their kidneys are still too immature to process excess water. Too much water can also lead to dilution of a baby's natural sodium level which can lead to health problems.

I would ask your peditrition if its ok. I ask mine when my son was 3 months and I was breastfeeding then. I was drinking plenty of water but It was 100 degrees back then so I was worried. My doctor said I could try to give him water just dont replace a feeding with water but he never wanted the water.

Water is continually good to furnish for your toddler. It also helps shrink thrush, the white stuff on the toddlers tongue. I gave my toddlers water and propose that each and every individual moms and dads do a similar. also, this may help the toddler from choking of their sleep too. maximum toddlers ought to easily accept water even as they're about 2 days previous. do not difficulty, maximum toddlers don't like it and for this reason moms and dads positioned sugar in the water. in simple terms be particular they get a touch to bathe down the milk or formula. good luck and GOD bless.

Yes. My babies pediatrician recommends giving water in a bottle (1-2 oz in the morning and at night) to help clean out the mouth, flouridate the gums and prevent thrush.

It is okay to give your 3 month old water, but it's really not entirely necessary because they get all of their nutrients from breast feeding or formula feedings. Remember that if you formula feed your baby you are already mixing the formula with water. I gave water to my son when he was 3 months old but he got horrible stomach pains from drinking it. Best bet is to give it only in moderation. Or ask your pediatrician.

not alot...water flushes nutrients away, and this is the most crucial time for them....but if your trying to get them on a schedule... and they just need a little suck, to hold them over for half an hour...go for it, but the baby books dont really reccomend it
