Done tastefully, it can make you look younger, girl! Try and avoid that real bleached look though, and stick to warmer, honey/gold tones for the most flattering look against your skin.
Go for it and have fun!

Hi I'm 52 and have long dyed blonde hair , but have had it for 30 yrs , but people always look so shocked when they find out how old I am , they always think I am only in my early 30's , this is not a one off ? So in answer to your question no it makes you look younger , I must admit I eat a healthy diet ,don't smoke , or go in the sun , also I drink plenty of mineral water but I'm not perfect I am vastly overweight as I have a thyroid problem .
I also ride a motorbike and have loadsa fun.

No, lighter is generally good as we get older because it is easier to conceal the (ahem ....) 'greys' (said in whisper). I am older than you (43) and am naturally very dark but with a pale skin tone. Yep, I could do the Morticia Adams look as a teen, but now - hell no. I get foils done every three months and they put 3 or 4 different shades of blonde on, from caramel shades to honey shades to one that is paler still. Funnily enough, no-one ever asks if my hair is coloured nowadays, yet when I was really gothic looking and it was natural, everybody asked me if it was coloured!!! You won't look wrong if you are prepared to spend the money on a decent salon and a good stylist. I'm sure you're worth it babe.

I'm 33 and have dark blond hair. I thought of dying it lighter as well. I think it would make us age more. You would look like a middle age woman trying to look young especially if you fake and bake. The same holds true for me even though I am a very young looking 33 year old. I think your natural hair color makes you look the youngest, believe it or not. Also, wearing too much makeup can age you too, so be careful!

Why dont you try highlights or a lighter brown (presuming you're brown at the moment)? It can age you and it will be permanent so you'd be stuck if you didnt like it. You also need to think that you'll need your roots doing every month - not cheap. Going blonde is high maintenance and can ruin your hair so think carefully before doing it. Also think about how dark are your eyebrows? The darker they are, the more obviously dyed your hair will be xxx

i think that white highlights age you. I had a friend who had them and she look older instantly! Go for a soft baby blond or a nice honey blond color.
Also - if you are dark complected it may not work with you either. Then I would maybe do a very light golden or caramel brown. It will look lighter because your skin is darker and it will give you a youthful glow instead of an over processed one.
Good luck!

Lighter hair brightens the face, as long as you don't go overboard. Try adding subtle coloring instead of going drastically different. Stay within the range of your natural undertones, and you will look great. If you have honey brown hair, then don't try to add champagne blonde to it. If in doubt, try it on before going through with it.

You might also want to think about doing it in a temporary color that washes out for the first time. If you don't like it, then it's gone in a few weeks. If you do like it, then you can always go permanent later.

Lightning with age helps to make you look younger as a hairdresser i suggest to th older ladies to lighten a little steer clear from hi lights as thats a young modern trend for teens go more light ash brown and then with cap add some subtle tones all over something natural but stunning

Go for blonde highlights and then get your hair done fully. Make sure it looks sun kissed and not flat and get it done proffesionally the first few times. Goin blonde depends on your face and does not usully make you look older. Ask a stylist or other proffesionilist for advice.

From many years of experience, I do believe if you don't have natural blonde hair and are dying it, it tends to make me look washed out and if you have fair skin (for me) it made me look pale so after many years of having my fun as a blonde.I tried to remember what my natural hair color was, its brown with going back to this color I wish I would have done it years ago.It soften me up and I still have fun...@ 49 Linda And a little tidbit it damages the crap out of your hair , mine has never gotten past my shoulders...
