Unless you smuggle the cat into Hong Kong, then the cat has to go through quarantine. If you get you cat to get all its vaccinations done before you go and keep a written confirmation as proof, then the quarantine period may be reduced. But no matter what, the cat will have to go through quarantine.

Depends on the cat and the airline.
If you can take the cat on the plane with you, in the cabin, this might be best. Just make sure you don't put your cat in a cheap cat carrier as some cats get upset on airplanes and break through them.
If the cat is going in the cargo bin, make sure you don't have weather restrictions during your travel dates, ie, too hot or cold for animals to travel.
Best wishes,
C

I asked my mum about this the other day, and it was upto 6 months in quarantine.
If this is the case i wouldnt take the cat with you, no matter how much you will miss it, as it will just frustrate and stress btoh of you out, if he/she is placed in quarantine, plus upto 6 months of its life (and yours) away from each other. (especialley important if the cat is quite old).
I would research on the internet, friends etc if you want to know other information as this is the best way!
Only take the cat with you if it is completely necessary, hope this helps xx

It depends on where are you travelling from. If you are come from western counties, usually you just need a medical qulification for your cat and apply something like immigration permit from HK AFC dept., then sent it to your airline company. It will spend you around 1 month.

Shouldn't be difficult. Call the custom authority first to confirm it.
and for the people responding - No, Asians DON'T EAT DOGS AND CATS. (maybe they did a long time ago but that was because they were starving)
STOP STEROTYPING!!!

I,d be more worried about him getting stuck in a stew pot than in quarantine.
