Because you’re not looking for them! Really, baby pigeons are everywhere you’d see the adults. The only problem is, by the time you see them they look almost like an adult.

You can hear baby pigeons with much more ease then you can see them. The babies squeak to get the parent’s attention so if you see a few pigeons fly in and out of the same location, chances are you might be able to hear the “squeakers” inside the nest.

They nest in just about any man-made or naturally protected location – billboards, overhangs, underpasses, drainage pipes, window ledges, etc.

right that's a frightening tale. I used to stay in a proper downtown 2 mattress room loft condominium. the only problem became into the pigeons that would sit down on the window ledge and the roof and consistently coo. My roommate stated to me sooner or later, "do you ever be conscious that we by no skill see any toddler pigeons?" I had by no skill concept-approximately it earlier that element. properly, of direction, sooner or later while my roommate and that i've got been making waiting interior the bathing room, we heard toddler birds chirping overhead. shall we basically guess that it became into toddler pigeons. So later, we come to be sure that the pigeons are nested safely above our condominium (the bathing room and MY mattress room)... which i do no longer mean to gross every person out, yet that led to little bugs getting into our condominium. Our landlords even regardless of the undeniable fact that have been very solid approximately this and did each thing of their skill to repair the situation for us, which coated ripping that portion of the roof up and digging all that crap out of there, toddler pigeons coated! So, long tale short, toddler pigeons are safely hidden away in rooftops of condominium homes!

In NYC you don't see the babies on the street, but a friend of mine thought that sparrows were baby pigeons, she was about 24 at the time LOL.

We have pigeons living in our barn and man they are ugly babies!! They grow very quickly and apart from the odd bit of fluff and being ever so slightly smaller they look just like the adults when they leave the nest so unless you find the nest you wont find the babies.

You see baby pigeons and seagulls all the time...it is just that by the time they leave their nest they look similar to the adults. Seagulls though are a different color than the adults when they are young. Have'nt you ever seen those kind of mottled brown seagulls...those are the babies or juviniles.

yeah baby pigeons are called sparrows!!

joking.

as for ignorant folks, I had a friend who thought lily pads were made out of fallen leaves by frogs. She came to Louisiana and asked her husband "why are the frogs so lazy here? There's no lily pads!!"

immature pigeons, called squabs, can be seen anywhere pigeons are.
look for the slightly smaller bodies and fluffier feathers.
also, their colors and patterns are less defined than adult birds.
they usually don't leave the nest until they can fly.
