Yes and the view is amazing. I'm working on the downward trip. Hope all goes well in your life.

I think I am currently on a lovely plateau and I hope I stay here for a very long time. The trouble with mountains is you have to descend sooner or later. The peaks in my life are usually followed by some nasty valleys. The trips up and down are interesting and exhilarating, but also wearying. I have pitched my tent here and plan to stay a while.
Can I extend a metaphor or what? : )

We all have many mountain tops, and many valleys. I have been to the lowest valley of my life -- any deeper and I would not have survived. I've been to the highest mountain top so far and experienced the agony of a truth so profound that it will haunt me for the rest of my life. But it's hard to see over that next ridgeline to see the next mountain, let alone what shape it will have.

Literally - probably yes, I hiked to the top of this huge mountain a few years ago, and since then my knees have gone bad, so I probably won't be doing anything much higher.
Figuratively - no, I'm still young.

I've had a few 'peak experiences' but I too continue to travel upward.
