CARMINES - great family style italian food . right in the heart of times square. portions are huge ! they also have a pre-show special menu. there is usually a wait, but well worth it. they have a great bar and the staff is very friendly. if you want to really feel that you are in new york city, carmines is the place to go.

Others are making good suggestions for eating so I will say the Play "Wicked" is amazingly good. Before going to see it, we could not find a single good review. It was much better than any reviewer. Reviewers are maybe just a little out of touch with the public or stupid. Whichever.

Chez Josephine is wonderful, but it's very hard to get a table. It's owned and operated by two of Josephine Baker's sons.
