What helps me in losing weight is that when you eat that extra chocolate bar or bag of chips. Increased your workout about 30 minutes to a hour more than you usually do. Doing that will deter you from eating extra. Because you will have to work it off more than your normal workout. I love the Treadmill I walk on that about 3 hours a day, unless i cheat, then its about 5 hours day.

Having been there myself I think I am a fairly good person to answer this. I lost 2.6 stone in 5 months last year (17kg/37 pounds) and it is hard to find your motivation and not to give up.
1. To resist chocolate I would suggest eating 5 times a day and drinking LOTS of water - so have a pice of fruit inbetween breakfast and lunch and again in the afternoon, it keeps your sugarlevels up and stops you from getting the "urge" for something sweet. Have water whenever you get that "I think I want a snack but I'm not really hungry" feeling, it really helps. Also, picture the person you want to be, the slimmer you inside. When someone offers you a piece of cake think of her and the good work you've done so far.
2. Excercise is definately the way to go, try out classes at the gym. I do spinning and things like body combat where you sweat a lot and everytime it felt/feels hard I just imagine the sweat as being fat dripping off my body, imagening the burn and how I'm toning up which helps me push that little bit extra.
3. Cook healthy food but make sure you don't have the same thing everyday of you'll get bored. Try new spices, veg you haven't tried before etc. be creative.
4. If you are a "snacker" like me, make sure you have healthy options at home should you "fall off the wagon" as they are much better than full fat crisps or a snickers. I have things like gluten and diary free herb crackers (about 15 cal per cracker) and low fat cream cheese or pizza flavored rice cakes. If you're out and about have some dried fruet and nut mix in your bag or at your desk and have a few of those instead when someone offers you a treat.
5. If you have one bad day and eat unhealthy, don't give up! Head to the gym in the evening or go for a long walk, make sure you stick to the healthy food the following day.
Good luck!

1. Go out and buy yourself something that you want to look good in. Leave it on a hanger out somewhere in your room to see everyday.
2. Make sure you use tin foil to wrap up food in the frig instead of wrap. It helps not to see it.
3. Don't buy the junk! If it's not there...you don't eat it. Buy things that help you like fruit and other good foods.
4. Go to the website I have listed below and study it. Your blood feeds your body. According to what blood type you are...you may not have to diet too hard, just eat what your body accepts naturally.
An example: I am a type O blood type.
I lost weight rapidly without really even trying or being even slightly stressed about it.
I need to stay away from :
Wheat and all wheat products, breads, pastas, crackers etc...
Corn producst of all kinds like chips and anything containing corn syrup, starch etc...
Drink pineapple juice before each meal...aids in digestion and controls water weight.
Take a B - Complex and Calcium suppliment....stay away from dairy products.
Eat red meat! High protein balanced with good vegetable and fruit intake as well as carbs...usually rice.
You may be a type A or AB but some of the same things apply except that you can't eat so much meat. May be some turkey or fish.
If you are a B...thrive on the Dairy products, eat meat all except for chicken (not good for B's) and stay away from the wheat and corn products too.
Find out what type you are and then research this site. This is the only diet that has ever made sense. Everyone is different. This is why you have some folks that do well on one particular diet and others don't do so good. The cookie cutter diet doesn't work for everyone! Your body and your blood tell you what you should eat or not eat.

Please, if anything works for you, please let me know. I've been doing this since the birth of my 3rd child --over 35 yrs ago!. When tired, depressed, worried or stressed, I get hunger pains. Apparently you know all the printed material that says: in 30 minutes the hunger will be gone (wrong --you're only hungrier), exercise & it will go away (I assume you're doing this, too).
I don't think you're too heavy because you are apparently still growing so do not deprive yourself of calcium, protein & good cargs at least 6 small meals a day as proscribed by all the best diet books to keep hunger away. At lunch, I eat 1/2 my sandwich at work & by 3 - 3:30 I'm hungry again & I eat the other half. Drink plenty of water, have fruit, salad & healthy snacks. 121 lbs is fine since you're still so young -- remember "THIN IS NOT IN" at this time & countries are all saying they will not allow super skinny models in shows anymore because their images are ruining young girls' lives with eating disorders. Just eat healthy, small portions & do not go more than 4 hours without some protein, low carbs or low fat food --it keeps the metabolism & blood sugar up at an even level which helps control hunger & energy. Be very careful of dieting too much because it can ruin your health & make for serious problems later on in life. Take good care of yourself.

Why not eat chocolate if you want to? Why couldn't you treat yourself to a packet of crisps every now and then? Instead, do more exercise! If you do running, cycling, swimming and other cardio exercises you could burn a lot of calories and even for upto 4 hours after your exercise you'll be like a furnace! Eating a bit of everything in moderation is a good thing and it doesn't make you feel like you've lost your willpower. Those people who never eat a cake or a sweet are boring. Anyway, a bit more exercise is very healthy just like eating chocolate is ok sometimes. You are young so out you go! Get yourself fit and healthy!

I lost 30 Kg over two years, and I am 6ft, 85Kg now - which is still big.
What I found was that willpower sucks ****, and the best thing you can do for yourself is just cut out the little things. So what if you want that chocolate bar. Eat the damn thing, but don't drink any soda. Same if you want chips - go for a bit of a walk.
You are not fat the rosanne is fat. In other peoples opinion you may be slightly rounded, but in your eyes there is work to be done. They don't count for anything - only you do. Just every day when you wake up, and when you go to bed, tell yourself how much more you need to loose to be happy - and with time it will come.

Diets do not work long term. They will only work for as long as you can keep them up for and seeing as most diets are not maintinable longterm they will eventually fail.
For me - This is whats working for me.
Portion control - Eat small meals more often rather than three big meals per day. Id recommend five or six small meals. A sandwhich and a banana would be a good example of the portion size your looking for. Another meal would be two chicken breasts and rice with a yogurt. There are loads of foods which will fill you up without having to eat loads.
You stomach should be the size of a fist. By eating huge portions all the time you are constantly stretching your stomach which makes you look bigger, feel fat and feel constantly hungry. If you trained your body to eat smaller portions you would feel fuller quicker with less food and wouldnt ever feel bloated.
By doing the above your body would burn calories more efficiently than if you ate as much as you could three times a day like most people do.
Your body can burn the calories from six small portions of food per day much better than three huge ones.
Also - Eat slower - If you eat too fast you dont realise you are full until some time after you actually are so all the food you ate after this point will make you feel bloated and your stomach stretched.
and finally - Join a gym or participate in a form of activity two or three times a week where your burning calories.
By applying the above logic to your life you will eat less calories, consume them in a way which makes your body more efficient at burning them and together with the exercise will burn more calories which can only result in weight loss and toning.
oh - and walking on a running machine with the incline as far as it goes will tone up anyones ar5E and is a great way of burning loads of calories without moving very fast.

Just don't think of it as being on a diet, think of it as eating healthy, i am doing that at this moment in time and i don't feel deprived of anything, i don't eat chocolate anyway or crisps, so that doesn't bother me, i just eat the foods i like such as salad and pasta etc but i am eating less of it and three meals a day and the weight is shifting, go for walks regularly this speeds up your metabolic rate and even when you are sitting you are burning fat, I'm like a whippet lately, cant keep me still got to shift some weight! think thin and you will do it if you have a goal it will just work out! good luck

If possible get soemone to "diet" with you...it's tough doing it alone...there is no one quick fix.....forget the word diet.......tell yourself that you're on a helathy living plan and set yourself goals.....I know exactly what it's like.....as for exercise tips..that depends on your personality. Some are runners, others detest it. I enjoy putting on music and cleaning and dancing and just being plain silly...pretend to kick box try anything that you think you'll enjoy. Chances are you will and the weight should fall off...
