That same question has bugged me for some time. I think some people are just stuck back in the stone age and think it is 'not ladylike' for a woman to have tattoos or piercings, just like we are supposed to be responsible for the cooking and cleaning and typical 'womans work' drives me nuts. I only have one tattoo at the moment but I love it and don't care how people veiw it.

It's because of a weird standard that has plagued us since time began. What is perceived as feminine is the norm for women.
Tattoos have nothing to do with your sex life or even your sex. If what your tattoo or proposed tattoo has anything to do with, it should be your personality. If you are strong and more macho in character (regardless of physical appearance) than a tattoo that you think compliments that is something you should get.
I happen to be more feminine and my tattoos show that. Never mind the "S.L.U.T marks" I've wanted a lower back piece since I was a virgin. The tattoo itself and the area are things that I feel are representative in their own ways. All tattoos should be that way. If some one has a problem with your tat or where it is, they're not worth the time, so screw them.
Hope I helped!

Most of these "views" on tatoo's on women are given by repressed women who dare not be different. Or worse are trying to live up to what they think is the norm. Trust me most critics of women are women, men don't care as long as you don't threaten their egos.Bottom line; do what makes you happy.

I don't know why but I am hoping that soon it will just be viewed as someone who has a tattoo. Some people just don't like tattoos at all whether it be on a woman or a man. People judge way to quickly just because of a tattoo and they don't know just how nice that person can be--I have 16 tattoo's and in the middle of drawing another one up to take to my artist. I have them on my arms and the outer calves of both legs. I like them, they mean allot to me and though I get looks, smirks and rude comments---I always smile and tell them thanks for noticing my tattoos. I don't care if anyone likes them or not and though some are rude......I am nice to them.

i imagine the idea about spreading the seed is a pathetic macho idea invented through some cave guy. I do imagine even with the indisputable fact that that that's a case of mom nature progression us otherwise to one yet another. i do not imagine many women individuals till its a one nighttime stand and they are inebriated can bypass out casually and performance sex without feeling emotionally connected. women individuals are the carer's and we are those who take care of and sense. adult males do no longer sense a similar emotion as we do it quite is why such fairly a number of them can walk faraway from a sparkling toddler and leave the mummy to %. up the products. i won't be able to describe it even with the indisputable fact that that's genetics yet i imagine adult males attempt to blow it off as spreading the seed crap so that they sense ok about their movements. No blame no guilt idea. i imagine it also has plenty to do with the way you raised and the style of dad a number of those adult males had. If their father develop into majorly macho and disrespectful in direction of ladies individuals you would possibly want to be particularly particular the sons will be a similar.

I think it's because of the spot that they recieve their tat. The craze for women to get it just above their asses. Making the tat seen in a negative light for some reason. While men normal get them on their arms or chest (places of pride). I'm not saying that this is the only spot that you seen women and men get them but it seems to be the most popular.

Large & highly visible tatoos dont seem ladylike to me. Just my opinion. I also dont like pit hair on girls or multiple face piercings. I just think it's ugly. I dont like long hair on men. And missing teeth in either gender. It all screams low-class IMO.

they come across as being trashy on a woman.
I find that tattoo's on people in the music industry doesnt bother me.
But when its anyone else..it all depends.
Especially on woman, if they have too many, i find it totally trashy, one or two is fine...
And on men when they have there arms and legs covered it can be a bit icky..but it looks okay on some people.
I guess it depends all on the person.

Because people think that women should be respectable instead of trashy. But i think tattoos are just a way of describing yourself.

Because it's a male-dominated society and somehow tattoos on women are wrong.
I have three myself, and I don't care what anybody thinks.
