I don't understand, if you are legal why are they deporting you. I didn't know they could do that, you all have your citizenship it can't be taken away thats a bunch of bullshiiit I would try to take it to court or something because thats horrible. Contact an attorney.

first it doesn't matter where you are from, second i would guess if your dad came legally and they told him that he overstayed his welcome, he must have had a green card and it expired. i would get an immigration lawyer. i would think that since your family owns a business and the children have lived here all their life, that would maybe speed up the process toward another green card or something. good luck, i hope it works out. your dad should also look into citizenship when this whole mess is sorted out so he doesn't have to worry about this again. until then try to look on the bright side (i know it may seem like their isn't one), if you have to go to you dads home country for a while make it as good of an experience as it can be. learn as much as you can, you will grow to be a better person for it.

Is your family in fact citizens or just legal permanent residents. Citizenship is for life, so if that is what you have (by taking the test and oath and everything) then your father can not be deported. If your family only has green cards then there is a difference. Green cards are issued for ten years at a time. After ten years they expire and it is up to you to renew them for another ten years. If your green cards are expired then you're family has in fact overstayed. If your green cards are not expired then is it possible that your father got into trouble with the law for a serious offense. It doesn't happen often but it can. Check into all of this and you may want to hire an immigration attorney to help your family. Good luck to you

that goes to show you how much this people really know about immigration. And they come here with great intelligence and virtues. He had a Visa, it had a dead line, it expired. Tons of people from other countries, not Mexico, come to the good'ol USA like this.
Your father needs to consult a lawyer. Sorry that it happend on your bday. sucks to get this kind of presents.
If you have been for several years I think 10 or more, there may be something you can do, at least it used to be like that. If you are a minor, they can't make you live.
Good luck to you and your family.

I am sorry for your dad and your family. These are the injustices of the American government. If you lived like many of the illegals, you might still be doing a good living. My advice if you can pay for it, is get a decent immigration lawyer and fight the case. There are many angles that can be explored.

I feel bad for you son. It's people like your father that built this country. I guess if all the legal ways fail--go to Mexico and cross the border illegally. What the heck?
Sorry

Is your father on a permit where he has to go to court every 5 months or so to get extended permission? If so maybe the place he's employed can request an extension. Or if you can contact an immigration lawyer. It really depends where your from how long you've been here etc..........

I agree with peaches....that doesn't sound right! I'm so sorry about your situation......

AHHH! Sad how completely legal people get threatened to be sent out, who work, and live for America...when we have illegals crawling into our country on knees and hands....This is so jacked up.
See if you can get a lawyer...contact the immigration offices. Find out what is going on...because this just dose not sound right...

Your dad needs to hire a good immigration lawyer. This happened to a friend of mine who was from Canada. He was married to an American and had two children. He had lived here 10 years but they never gave him citizenship because of a messed up U.S. law. He hired an immigration lawyer and it took a couple of years but they let him stay here until it was straightened out. He finally got his citizenship and can go back to Canada to visit family now.

Sorry you are having to go through this.

I am sorry for your situation, and i will keep you and your family in prayer. I would suggest that you contact an attorney that deals with immigration laws. You can find one in your local yellow pages, or call a attorney referral service and they will give you the name and number of an attorney that specializes in these matters. Good luck and God bless you and your family. And Happy belated birthday! Sorry you had such a bad day, keep your faith in God, he will take care of it if you ask.
