try this recipe:2 slices of wholemeal bread(freshly baked or toasted)Lettuce(enough to cover a slice of bread)
2 turkey slices or grilled chicken or 1 hard boiled egg
1 medium sized tomatoe.
Place your 1 lettuce on one slice of bread, then slice the tomatoe into small portions and place on top of the lettuce. now place the turkey, chicken or egg on top.drizzle with some honey if u wish.place the other lettuce and tomatoe on the other slice of bread and cover.cut into 2 parts and enjoy!

Not even lean turkey?!

Try fillings in a pita pocket such as:

alfalfa sprouts
onions
cukes
shredded carrots
shredded lettuce
fresh spinach (whenever it's safe again)
tomatoes
hard-cooked egg whites (cook, toss yolk, slice whites)
tofu slivers
coarse-grain mustards
a few sunflower seeds

Try a pita with veggies and some hummus or a baked falafel pita sandwich with tzatziki (cucumber yogurt) sauce!

These are based on the chickpea, which is a tasty bean.
