Yes, english is my "other" language, haha...

My native language is german, english was the second, I think I am equally fluent in both.

My Dutch and Swedish are pretty good. Although I might not be able to hold a scientific speach about brain-surgery, I can maintain myself easily in everyday's life. Like reading papers and books, watching TV, going shopping, chatting about normal everyday stuff with neighbours and such...

My French once was better than my English, but I haven't used it since 1980, so I fear it is gone now. It is kinda "hidden" in one of my brain-sections. I am sure if I would spend 4 weeks in France, it would all come back. But now, not being forced to speak french and only french, I can't recover it.

My Italian was never too good. I gave it up after only 6 months, it was not for me. I can pronounce the words though. But I don't really know what they mean.
I can walk over a market place and buy food, and I can cook from italian cookbooks. but that is it already. No conversation about Berlusconi or the TV programme yesterday...

Oh, and I am still shocked about Americans who seriously believe that they don't need a second language, let alone a third, or even a fourth...The world is required to adjust to them, right? The world need to learn their language...
