Nope, God is perfectly able to preserve His Word and has done so quite well through several versions.

Interpretations, yes. Translations or versions, no.

There are lots of wingnut interpretations of the Bible which are the basis for any number of off-the-wall best sellers (like 'the DaVinci Code') and cults. Even within the main line churches, there are differing emphases on certain doctrines over others, hence all the different denominations.

So, yes, we are very concerned that the Bible might lose its true meaning through off-the-mark interpretations. We have been for 2,000 years. There were 4 major church councils just to decide what ought to be in the Bible. The Protestant Reformation was over the issue of orthodoxy, with Martin Luther (among others) spearheading the move to bring the Church back to its roots. And there continues, in every church, a struggle to find the truth of Scripture and apply it to contemporary life.

But the constant upgrading of translations is necessary. The average person can't read it in the original Hebrew and Greek so it has to be translated. New translations (and paraphrases) are necessary, not so much because our understanding of the original texts has changed dramatically (we've had excellent texts for thousands of years), but because contemporary languages are changing all the time. The King James version is a perfectly good translation, except that you have to translate the 1611 English into modern English because some of the word meanings have changed and no one uses 'thee' and 'thou' any more. And then you have to 'translate' the English into one of its dialects. I'm a middle-aged white guy -- I have to work at explaining things to teenagers of my own race. Imagine how difficult it might be for me to communicate with kids in an African-American or Hispanic or Asian gang neighborhood.

No. Like a recipe. all the ingredients are still there.
Thats why we are told to:
2 Timoty 2:15 Study to show thyself approved.
1 Thess 5:21 Study to learn for yourself.

Like a big haystack- gleen from it by studying.
You find eggs in that haystack- might even find a needle.

Its in the book. we have to be careful that we discern the truth-Man can't be trusted
Jeremiah 17:5 cursedin the man that puts his faith in another man.

Yes translation mistakes are evident.
It does not hide the truth.
Christ said he is the LIVING WORD- The final AUTHORITY>
Thats what prayer and knowledge is for- to bring wisdom and wisdom is understanding the owrd of GOD.

NOBODY KNOWS IT ALL NOR EVER WILL till Christ returns.

I stay in the word of God, there fore it will never loose its' true meaning. I do not fall for those so called easier to understand versions that dilute the true word of God.Those so called easier to understand and read New bibles are not the word of God, but have become the word of man. KJV bible suites me just fine.

No. I don't read Bible interpretations. I read Bible translations. There is a difference.

I read the King James, because it is the authorized version, and there are many translations and paraphases that have twisted the word of God. One should be very careful when reading any translation other than the King James

Christians who are always seeking knowledge and wisdom are often concerned about what "man" could have done through translation. We want to please God, and the thought of that makes us sad. BUT..in no matter what translation you read, the important, eternal message is clear. Faith, salvation through the blood of Christ, Love...etc. Even if someone did change God's words, he see's your heart. Instead of worrying, we just pray whole heartedly for his wisdom to be showered upon you.
