Neither is more important. God loves both equally. More concerned about the Atheist tho.

The modifier for this question is "important to whom".
To God, both people are equally important. The Athiest works blind, and the Christian needs to get off of their blessed assurance and get to work. "Importance" to God is not based on what we DO, it is based on what we ARE: His children.
To the people around them, the Athiest may well be better loved for his/her community service, while the Christian is an unknown person. People judge other people's worth on their works (among other things), and not on their status as human beings.

The Atheist is more important to the community. I do not agree with the Christian God as defined by the Christians nor their Bible or for that matter any God so I would say the Christian that does nothing does not place any value to the community or God.
They are of equal importance as human beings though.

The question is not about faith or non faith, it is a philosophical one about the worth of one person opposed to another based value conditions of service to others. Importance is therefore relative only in the sense that a person who performs community service has more value to those who benefit from this. However, the person who does not perform such services maybe equally as important to the loved ones in his/her life.

There is no such thing as a Christian who does nothing. For someone who claims to be a Chrisitan, and they do nothing is the same as the athiest.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Not all who call themselves a Christian are. Those who call themselves one and are not, are reprobates.
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Important? To whom?
If you are asking if the Christian is more important simply because they are a Christian, no. We are all equally important to God. I'd ask you, are any of your children more important than the other, no matter what they'd done? Of course not!

Community service is just that if you don't believe in Christ. We are not judged by works alone! Your heart may be in the right place but the soul needs to be filled with the Lords Spirit and fed with the Word if you want it to mean anything.

No one is more important than anyone else; we all have intrinsic value. And a Christian who does nothing is an oxymoron; at least according to the Bible they're supposed to follow.

let me explain by taking a glimps at Judgement day and Gods High standard, the Ten Commandments.
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are guilty of breaking three of the Ten Commandments and there are seven more left. The BIBle says God demands absolute perfection in thought word and deed, and even breaking one of these commandments is enough to condemn us forever in a Place of Punishment called Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (confess them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
God is so Kind, while he could have simply condemned us, he willnow give us the opportunity ot attain eternal life. Not because we deserve it but Because he is merciful.

The Atheist of course. They are making a difference and not just sitting on their own pedestal quoting scripture.
