I'm taking my male yorkie pup (he's 8 months old) for his first grooming appointment on Friday. I wanted to know if it would be ok for me to have a bow put on him, in order to keep the hair that grows in between the eyes back, so that he can have that Yorkshire terrier look. Or is it wrong being that he is male?

GitEmGang, you have serious issues. You have waaaaay to much time on your hands to be so upset about the question. Get a life and stop spending so much time on your computer. If you got out a bit more than you wouldn't be so angry at the world!

A topknot is perfectly acceptable for males. Just use a non femanine color.

In toy sized canines & some miniatures, the male should be smaller that the female. in the different case the domestic dogs are too large & the female will favor a c-section or worse, die. this may look severe yet you want to understand what you'd be coping with. with your female as small as she is, it could be in her perfect interest to have her spayed & no longer breed her. locate yet another female a touch more suitable than yours & breed with your male. that would want to be safer.

Well, that depends on your preference..Does it bother you to have a bow on him? It's totally your decision. He doesn't care. Have them put a "manly" blue or green colored bow on him if you think it looks girly. Or just have them trim his head short, in a round shape..That's what we usually did at the grooming shop I worked at. The girls got bows, the boys were trimmed short. Of course, that depends on whether you have his hair long or trimmed... If it's long a trimmed head won't look right..

It`s perfectly acceptable, Just use a colour that you feel comfortable with. I would however, discuss it with your groomer, & make sure that he is comfortable, Learn how to remove it & put it back on yourself...to prevent pulling, tangles & matts...The bows are for your benefit not his,.
