I use smoothies as a meal so I have protein powder from a Vitamin Shop (large size is the cheapest). I have both vanilla & chocolate protein.
I use one cup skim milk, 1/2 cup ice water or ice cubes, one scoop of the protein. If I make a fruit smoothie I always use vanilla -goes best with fruit. This is how I get my fruit every day. Then I use frozen fruit --some I do myself -buy fresh, slice into portions & freeze in snack size baggies or use the frozen bags of fresh fruit sold in large supermarkets (great for the winter). I eye the serving size but it's probably about a cup of fruit. If I have fresh bananas cut up & frozen, I always add them because they make the shake thicker. I get fresh bananas, slice them & freeze 6 chunks in the snack bag so I always have them in my freezer. I also buy 2- 32oz containers of fat free vanilla yogurt every time I go shopping. ( If low on milk I double the water & yogurt ). I add 1/2 cup yogurt, one package of Splenda (sweetner) & drops of vanilla flavoring. !st blend on chop for the ice cubes & frozen fruit & then aerate to make it fluffy. Now this is a meal for me & totals about 250-350 calories depending on how big it is. I usually get over 24 oz from all this. I use frozen mixed berries, blueberries, strawberries, rasberries, peaches, mixed melon chunks & I'll always try a new one if I find one. I think I'm getting hooked on these & of course once in a while I use the chocolate powder, skim milk, yogurt and/or ice cream --yummy. If chocolate I use one teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder (healthy). The ingredients listed can be substituted for what you like. Mine is a substitute meal plus healthy stuff that I don't ususally get. If you just want a snack then use smaller amounts of everything. Experimenting is fun - so enjoy some of the great ideas in all these answers. I know I will!

in my view, i've got faith that measurements shrink to rubble the recipe. in basic terms pass alongside with instinct. so which you like FROZEN fruit(so which you do no longer desire ice). It additionally makes the smoothie thicker and creamier. some milk. upload some honey as a replace of sugar, because of the fact it truly is fit and brings out the flavors of the fruit(s). Now you mixture the climate jointly and in case you used frozen wait until eventually it truly is creamy without chunks of fruit left.it truly is an exceptionally healthful drink and maximum critically its good.
