It is grim.
Give up Greed or die.

The problem between God and Israel is clearly exposed. Hosea describes Israel as a luxuriant grapevine sending runners in every direction, indicating producing a bountiful crop. Great prosperity is indeed produced, yet it is consumed in self-indulgence.

Israel abused its prosperity by using it for purposes of idolatry. God is indicating that its prosperity played a part in corrupting the people's hearts. This is why the deceitful, divided, disloyal heart is mentioned in context with the multitude of its fruit.

Much of the world's appeal is that it seems to offer financial security. However, God shows there is a possible evil, secondary effect: As people become financially secure, their attention is diverted from His purpose to things that are vain and corrupting.

Man cannot serve two masters-Both God and Mammon

I didn't know that you had enough intelligence to give an interpretaion. Now you say Hosea 10:2 Why not also read verse one, or do you not have an interpretation for it, You can always take one verse out of context & try to prove OR in your case DISPROVE something. Now look at Verse 2, This is talking about Israel, because verse one says Israel is an empty vine, They are a empty vine because they were scattered throughout the world, OH, I almost forgot Verse 2 Their Hearts is divided, now shall they be found faulty, He shall break down their alters & spoil their images. Now that is a very good verse, & Jibba Jabba, I don't think you have any interpretaions of it. But we are looking at Israel in dispertion, Their heart is divided, True, Their Government is devided, Now if you are trying to prove that Israel will not be anything anymore, You are wrong. I can take you To Zeck, Isa. Hosea, Micah, Jonah, Ezekiel, Psm. Proverbs, Jeremiah, Zephaniah, Daniel, Habakkuk, Haggai, malachi, Deuteronomy, , Geneses, & other books of the Bible to show you were God will ONCE AGAIN RESTORE ISRAEL, Oh I forgot one again, Amos, do you need anymore books for me to let you read. But since you Picked Hosea Let's turn back to Hosea 6:1-4 In the 3rd day God will let Israel once again live in his presense. Anything else you want to know. OH I almost forgot again, that is what happens when you get to be 57. MR. T is a Christian

Hosea 10:2--"Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images."
This is in regard to false religion, namely Babylon the Great ( Revelation 14:8, Revelation 16:19 and Revelation 17:5-6)

God will destroy those who serve other gods other than Him.They are worshiping the imiages that man has made, and not worshiping God. You must read the first scripture in order to understand the second one.

Deuteronomy 7:25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

Hosea 10:1-2 Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.

Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images Hosea 10:2

Heart is divided - strayed from the truth of God
shall be found guilty - self explanatory
break down their altars - destroy all he has given them
spoil their images - they will be feared because of their sin

This is my interpretation.

Hosea 10:2

2 Their heart is deceitful,
and now they must bear their guilt.
The LORD will demolish their altars
and destroy their sacred stones.

2 Their heart is deceitful,
and now they must bear their guilt.
The LORD will demolish their altars
and destroy their sacred stones.

3 Then they will say, "We have no king
because we did not revere the LORD.
But even if we had a king,
what could he do for us?"

I also think it is grim, but what could be even more upsetting is it talking about the past or the future.

Who cares? It's a Bible story. At this part of the story, it's just ranting more about how bad Israel is. And, as is usual in the Old Testament, it ends with God killing women and children.
