I think it scares some men off, but not all.
I've been dating a girl for the last 2 years who has two kids (8 and 11 years old) and although it makes things a bit more complicated than if she didn't have kids... its fine.
We're about to move in together.. so I haven't been scared off yet!
Good luck.. don't rush into anything... and just because your marriage has ended it doesn't mean that you'll always be on your own, or that you;ll never meet anyone else.
Take care.

It is surprising and at the the same time very sad to see how divorce can take place so easily in this time and age and especially in the west, even when there are children involved from the couple. We need to be more patient and tolerant with each other and think about the future of the children being without a father/mother. We need to be patient and tolerant while going through hardships and ease and various ups and downs. Whatever that may have happend which resulted in triggering in considering a divorce needs to be discussed and talked over, overlooked for the sake of keeping the family together and united. But, if there are no other solution, then divorce has to take place.
I'm sure there are many men out there who like and don't mind women with children. But in general, any man would prefer a woman having no children. Unless, that man also has chldren from his previous marriage etc.
In our Muslim community, as soon as a woman is divorced she will most likely find another husband straight away, as we are encouraged to not let our women left single, especially when they are divorced and with children.

Well coming from a single mom of 5 boys, with experiance in this area, yes you do have a chance. I was a single mom with 2 kids when I met my first husband. Needless to say even thought the marriage didn't work out, it wasn't anything that the kids did, it was my husbands fault why our marriage didn't work out. I dated after divorcing my husband and none of the men seemed to mind that I had kids, after my divorce, I was a single mom with 4 kids and still dated guys. My ex-boyfriend from 2003 had raped me and from that rape came by 5th son. And I have now been dateing a guy since April and we are now engaged to be married this coming spring. So as you can see men do date women with kids, regardless of what people think. You just have to find the men that don't seem to mind kids. They are out there, but so are the ones that don't want to date women with kids. So just be patient and the guy will eventually find you. But as far as living with your soon to be ex-husband, i'd move out as soon as possible, no man will usually put up with the ex-husband living with their new girlfriend, they usually tend to think that the two of you will hook back up, because of the baby/kid. SO i'd move out as soon as possible, but in the mean time just keep on confronting and telling the new man that there is nothing going on between you and the ex, that the living together is just temporarily for now, it's so you can save money to get a new place or your ex is trying to save money for a place. Just make sure the new man knows there is no chance now or ever that you and your ex will ever get back together. I hope that this gives you an idea from one mother to another. Just hang in there and there is hope for another relationship.

Me, personally...as a single guy, it can scare me off to having a relationship. I wouldn't mind being friend's though.
I think what goes through most guys minds are , "I'm not ready to be a father." and "I don't want to have to deal with the father." Alot of guys in college already have plans for their life, or atleast have some idea, and becoming an instant dad right into a relationship doesn't always fall into those plans.
Most guys past college though, say in their 30's with a good career who are looking to settle down might be down for that though, as they're pretty stable financially and would have the time to be a Dad aswell as a b/f.
So in answer to your question...younger guys? 9 out of 10 times, no. But the older gents you'd prob have a better chance with.

There are men who will love you as well as your child. Even though you love this man, the Internet has great sites these days to get background checks on people for very little cost. After all, if this man is going to be around your child and possibly be a part of raising him/her then doesn't it make sense to protect your child too, when you make a choice to bring someone new into their lives? What he doesn't know won't hurt him but if he turned out to be a perv you wouldn't want him around your child or in your life.
There are also some men that won't look twice when you have a child, because they don't want that for their own lives. It's ok, there's a HUGE world of people out there. Just be careful in your choices. Best Wishes to you.

Well, exactly how many kids do you have & how old are they? This may make a difference. Do you have a herd of whining, runny nosed todders?
I would say that men who have kids themselves would be most likely to date a woman who also has kids.
You may want to try a Parents Without Partners thing--like everyone there has kids. Good luck!

Some will be scared off, some will think of you as an easy mark, and others will love the fact that you have a child. You may have to kiss a few frogs along the way, but you will find happiness again!
Good Luck!

i asume you are talking about, having a instant ready made family, thats very hard too tell, most, men have a diffucult time dealing, with a ready made family diffrent personalities especialy in laws its very very diffucult on them adjusting. any if anybody ele tel you different there carazy the fellings just arent there, its a very very tough battle. and why in the hell would a husband be doing with a spouse while divorcing?? most of it is due too cheasting a lot of it s, strange if your going threw a divorce hiot the highways. and like we said it takes a special, special kind of person too deal with ready maid famlies, very very difficult adjusting. if you had a chance depends, on the person, etc. finding that special person good luck.

Of course you have a chance as long as you keep your options open. A truly genuine man will embrace your child. That is what you will need with a little one, and watch for guys who only play on your eagerness to be liked. Congratulations on the new arrival.
