my computer does not support .rar type files. my os is windows xp.......what to do??

RAR is just another type of file compression like ZIP. You can go to http://www.rarlab.com/ and download a trial version of their software. It will allow you to open RAR files including most other compression formats like CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, JAR (Java Archive), ISO (ISO9660 - CD image), 7Z, Z (Unix)

the next time you dont know the file extension ask wikipedia example rar file extension or exe file extension
