It *is* possible to be happy with the same person forever. You just have to make the decision every morning when you look at that person that THIS is the one you choose. Every single day. And if you get tired, you have to hang on through those times. And if the other person gets tired, you have to hang on through those times. And you have to have chosen a person who is going to look at YOU every morning, and think, I choose HER, every day. Every single day.
So yes, it's possible. Most people aren't willing to put in the amount of work it requires over a lifetime, because it requires a LOT of work and discipline. They say the benefits are worth it, though.

If you get tired of someone then it means that you're not meant to be. Having various partners at a time, on the other hand, is just wrong.

If you found someone suited for you then it is possible. But you also have to be realistic. You can't expect things will be perfect all the time and know that some difficult times will rise at some points. If your expectations are not unrealistic, then it's very possible. But if you think things will always be perfect, then you'll never truly be happy with anyone for long. Cuz they will disappoint you (since no one is perfect).

from what i can gather my parents have been together since my mom was 16 and had no other partners only my father and they have been married for 33 years, yes they have had there ups and downs but they seem very happy together

No, you can be happy with someone forever and you will know if you and that person are meant to be together.The moment i met my husband,i knew !! So, yes you can be happy with someone forever !!

Absolutely. If the timing is right and its the right person. You will still have ups and downs, but being with anyone else will be the furthest thing from your mind.
