no one know but I think there is many lies lie on it

The intention behind the text.

Is the world a good place to live? Is there anywhere better - Not for yonks. You might question the creation story but the intention is to say our environment is a good place to live.

Why is there evil in the world? Why doesn't God stop it? We only know about evil because we have a sense of right. If God stopped evil people, we would all loose our freedom. The story of Noah explains that God can punish evil but has promised not to. The truth is that good and evil are simply opposites outcomes of the gift of freedom.

When you let the bible read you, you will find the truth, which is that we need a Savior. And guess what, a loving, creative God has already done the hard work. All we have to do is accept it. Funny but as easy as that is, its hard to give credit to another without feeling put down. What do you think; is that the truth?

There are parts of the Bible which have historical accuracies. A lot of the Bible is questionable, and then there are portions of the Bible that are impossible.

Truth no longer holds any value for me when someone says it is. Truth is often times an unwavering opinion held by faith.

Define truth, Pilate.

Either it is ALL true, or none of it is, in the religious sense.

In the historical sense, it certainly seems to be all true, although that does not speak to the absolute truth of the early chapters of Genesis.

Scientifically, it appears to be as true as necessary, given that it's not a science textbook. Genesis 1, for instance, is designed to be understood by relatively primitive people and to communicate the centrality of God in the existence of the universe. That said, the order of the days of creation corresponds quite nicely to the theory of evolution if you don't care to believe in ex nihilo creation. Personally, I find that Occam's Razor applies -- the simplest solution is probably the correct one.

Then there is the subjective truth communicated. The writers had real experiences. Whether or not you choose to believe what they wrote is another matter.

And there is the social truth. Thomas Jefferson, who, like most of the framers of the US Constitution, could hardly be considered a member of the 'Christian Right', nonetheless thought it prudent to protect and encourage Biblical faith because it 'made good citizens' -- people who followed biblical teaching were/are generally moral, responsible, compassionate, trustworthy and just. (There are notable exceptions, of course.) The underlying principles of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and indeed, the earlier Renaissance were all derived from the Bible.

Ultimately, despite all evidence, it is a matter of faith, that is, of personal choice. Even if, as the Bible maintains, there is absolute truth, it is still your choice whether or not to believe it and live by it.

Everything in the bible conveys truth when properly interpreted. But not every statement in the Bible is meant to be literally true. The writers used allegory, parable, hyperbole, and other literary forms to convey certain truths. When we read about Jesus telling people a story, we shouldn't ask "is this story true?". That is completely irrelevant. What we should ask is "what is the truth this story is meant to convey?".

Well, 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is inspired of God and benefitial...."
The problem is many people do not know what the Bible says. They do not realize all of the valuable information on daily living that is found in the Bible because they never take the time to actually read it.

The short answer is: none of it.

There may bits of factual, historical information embedded in it here and there, but the bible is no more an accurate account of the history of the universe than James Cameron's movie about Jack and Rose is an accurate portrayal of the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic.

And even if you look past all the contradictions, historical innaccuracies, and propaganda interwoven in its pages, the bible still offers no definitive proof of Christianity's central claim -- that faith in the sacrifice of Jesus guarantees eternal life in heaven. And until it does, we can safely disregard it as the superstitious ramblings of a bunch goatherding nomads living in a Bronze Age backwater.

At the end of the day, that's all Christianity is: a cult that won the lottery.

Christians believe it's all of it, others say none of it. It all depends on whether you wish to be or not to be :))

All of it. From cover to cover. It is only when someone distorts it to fit their sinful lifestyle, that it becomes a lie.
