Sometimes I work late-night at my job, and I wanna try to sleep between my 3 hour shifts. I live very very close to my job. How can I fall asleep faster? Is there any kind of safe medicine that can help me with that?

Hello Silly Ray. I must immediately stop you in your tracks. Medicine is definitely not the answer, and if any medicine was GOOD for your body that would be NO medicine at all.

Yeas people do need medicine for certain types of illnesses, and medicine especially antibiotics are necessary to stop diseases. BUT a sleeping problem is not a health problem therefore you should not even CONSIDER taking medicine for it!!

Try the following: Drink 8 glasses of water through the day. Eat at least three nutritios meals a day. You can contact me if you want to know how. Then, about 10 minutes before bedtime, drink a hot cup of black rooibos tea with a spoon of honey in it. Or if you prefer you can drink the tea without honey, NO MILK OR SUGAR! Then lastly, just before jou get into bed, stretch out and yawn as much as you can(about three times), that triggers your blood to flow better, in other words you will sleep better. If you feel you do not need much sleep, try and do with 6 hours, don't go to bed too early. But if you need rest, try to sleep eight hours. Make sure your pillows and bed are comfortable, and you might also try to be a liitle warmer. Sometimes when one is cold, or when the room temperature is cold and you don't notice that you are cold when you get into bed, it takes longer to fall asleep.

OK I notice you work shifts, are you 3 hours on and 3 hours off?LET ME KNOW

Hope this helps you - REMEMBER, MEDICINE ARE ALWAYS SEEN AS A LAST RESORT FOR PROBLEMS OF A NO-MEDICINAL NATURE!
Take Care and let me know if it worked.

Depending on how many hours you will be asleep medicine may not be your best bet. You should never take medication for sleep if you are not going to have a full 8 hours to sleep. Depending on you shift I am guessing that it is daylight and that is your main problem. Buy some dark curtains, paint your room a dark color and buy a blindfold. That is my advice. When you lay down clear your mind of any thoughts. I know I say up thinking about the days events or what I am going to do the next day some nights and that keeps me up. You need to not think of that stuff. Just think of the word nothing. Don't think of anything else. Your mind is one of those things that some nights you have to manually turn off by thinking of something that relaxs you. Oh and take a warm shower or bath that should help too. Good luck...

Most meds want you to sleep at least 8-9 hours. So I would not recommend a sleeping pill. But a good glass of warm milk and a dark cool room and some low soft music will do it for me every time. Good luck!

If you are working in a shift and need a 2-3 hrs sleep try washing your face and neck with cold water, then take a glass of hot milk, it will give you a short peaceful nap easily.

When I have caffeine and go to sleep I usually only have a light sleep and i'm easily woken up. Although it's harder to fall asleep after caffeine so it's not the best method. Might work for you though

Try to not drink anything with caffeine in it. Usually if u work really hard you will be tired enough to fall asleep. I heard turkey can make people sleepy too
