Read New Testament Book of Mark.
Jesus clearly states no gender in Heaven nor will there be any marriages.
Matthew 22:23-33. See also Mark 12:18-27, Luke 20:27-40
and
No Marriage? - Luke 20:34-40
Jesus said to the Sadducees, "On earth, people marry each other. Some people will be worthy to be raised from death and live again after this life. In that life they will not marry. In that life people are like angels and cannot die.
The only marriage--the Church is the Bride of Christ.

People do not marry "for eternity". The duration of a marriage is stated in the marriage vows - "until death do us part". When one of the couple dies, the marriage is ended. Which is why Jesus said that there is no such thing as marriage in heaven.

i dont understand, if they were married for eternity, wouldnt they never divorce? if when you say "married for eternity", you just mean "married" and then divorce, well...considering that they arent together anymore after the divorce, it seems reasonable that they wouldnt be together in heaven either.

God would not put the divorced couple together again in Heaven if they were divorced already.

Relationships between souls are not fixed and soul mates might incarnate as siblings, offspring or parents. You can experience spiritual union in the afterlife but not necessarily with your spouse in your previous life.

The Bible says that those who are resurrected will not marry or be given in marriage.
Those resurrected to go to heave will be acting as overseers to those in the second resurrection of Revelations, who have everlasting life on Earth. Being again perfect human beings, those who live through Armageddon, will marry, literally, forever. But, they will choose their partners with the use of brains with 100% capabilities, perhaps even telepathy.
