that would be to say all animals are inbred and deemed worthy just as humans of destruction at the whim of a god
when god asks for a blood sacrifice they supposedly have to go find a 'perfect' specimen without blemish
think of what this does for cosmetics industry
but if the animals we sacrifice to 'attone' for our wickedness is worthy of death by a flood...it just doesn't make sense
if many civilizations lived near water's edge, global warming would have innundated the oceans with melting ice and all the coastline populations would've been ruined
sounds more like the other 300 or so accounts of a flood that affected people's lives locally

The flood was prophesied against man. Animals just happened to be on earth. So God was faithful to preserve them, through pairs or 7 pairs.

The sin of man touched all things. So God destroyed everything. If a deadly virus invades your home, you destroy everything or it will come back. The animals didn't do anything, they were innocent. But innocence is the very thing that keeps us all alive. Every time you eat you have to kill something. Whether its a plant or animal. Even the clothes you wear are from from animals, sometimes. The message God was giving is that innocence must die to save you. That's why Jesus had to die.

the animals did nothing the humans worshipped false idols, engaged in homosexuality, raped women and girls, drank too much , used tooo many drugs so God got pissed and the animals suffered too.
