Well, based on the number of cat hairs that I find on my clothes, in my food, and all over my furniture, I would say that most of our house cats have to be bald!!!!

But they aren't.

First off, there are no "average" housecats. hee hee hee

Secondly, everyone who owns housecats knows that they have an UNLIMITED number of hair!!! (All the better for shedding)

This is not a useful question. What would be good to know is--why do they generate all those hairs they have no intention of keeping? The ones that are found on clothing and human belongings? do they think we need fur?

get your most favourite velvet shirt and place where kitty likes to sleep for 2 hrs
take shirt and count hairs on shirt
multiply by 40,000

tada!
