well, many of us never got into the ballcap craze, but would have enough sense to remove a hat or cap when entering a building...the problem is we now live in a mannerless society where everyone thinks it's ok to do whatever the hell they want...sad

What hat? maximum adult males do not actually have manners respectable adequate to remove their baseball caps even as eating interior! A hat is for outdoors positioned on in elementary words - like a bbq. positioned the damn challenge on the again of the chair - or extra perfect yet - leave it in the truck! If in the homestead - do no longer positioned your hat on the table.

People not teaching their children proper etiquette, I think this is something that should always be done, and any man who is a gentleman will automatically remove his hat upon entering a public building. It is something that i have instilled in all four of my sons.

Most older gentlemen still remove their hats when entering a building, but not this younger generation. I see men sitting at the tables in restaurants with caps on. My father must be spinning in his grave!

Most men don't even WEAR hats anymore; and you can thank the auto manfacturers for that (to save money on materials, they started making the roofs lower inside cars, so men no longer had any place to put their hats).

This is a custom you rarely see anymore. When we used to wear hats in the house, my grandfather would ask us if our heads were cold. In other words-take your hat off when you are inside.

Only if it is a place where everybody does it, like a church, swimming pool, or wedding ceremony. I have become so accustomed to wearing my hat throughout the day sometimes I even leave it on when I get home. It is so comfortable. When eating it may actually be more hygienic to leave your hat on, besides you the chef is also wearing a hat, or should be wearing one.

They do in the military. It's funny because the retirees still take their hats of while in the doorway. I work at a military hospital. I'm retired military myself. but I don't wear hats anymore.
BTW, Sunshine, I see you put your hat back on. Must be a sunny day where you are! Smile!

I ALWAYS remove my hat when entering a building. Always. It's a basic indicator of good manners; not to mention respect for oneself and others.
