Well it depends on what you call powerful.For e.g. A F-22 raptor which is the most expensive fighter jet on the planet is said to be one of the elitest.It is stealth equipped, capable of carrying mulltiple nuclear warheads and can travel in excess of 10000km in a single fill.Russian Sukoi is one of the most manuvarable jet and are said to be the most preffered in dogfights.It is the only jet which can give a cobra formation which is similar to stalling in air. The U.S. stealth planes i.e. the B-2 bomber and the F-117 nighthawks are one of the most accurate their precision is measured in inches.

The US has all of the best current fighter aircraft. Start with the f-22 Raptor, way ahead of its time. The F-15E is next ont the list, probably tied with the F-111 stealth. The f-16 is the US airforce's number 1 workhorse though.

if i am not mistaken the stealth fighter(b-2,b-5,etc) or called B class bomers are thew most powerful and devastating fighter's on air. Did u see the movie stealth, u can gather a lot of info on them. These fighter's r armed with nuke's.
and as all off us know that nuke's have deadly effects. countries haveing it r USA,Russia.

No single fighter plane is all powerful. I'll list them along with their strength and weakness.
F-22A Raptor
Designed by Lockheed Martin, it is bulit with air dominance in mind. It features stealth capabilities, the ability to supercruise (going supersonic without afterburners), long endurance periods, and the ability to carry a small nuclear payload. In aerial combat, it has no equal. It is at least 3 generations ahead of any modern military jet in the world.
With designed mainly to dominate the skies, it has a limited ability to conduct air-to-ground missions, using JDAMs and LGB etc. Because all its payloads are carried internally to preserve a smooth and stealth profile, it does not have a huge payload for bombs, generally for a maximum of two JDAMs.
This is a non-exportable aircraft solely in use by the USAF only.
F-16C Fighting Falcon
Designed as a multirole fighter, its also one of the most versatile jet around, capable of conducting a wide variety of missions include CAS (Close Air Support), BAI (Battlefield Air Interdiction), SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defences) etc. It is also one of the most exported jets, with 10 different operators at the moment, namely:
- the United States Air Force
- the Royal Netherlands Air Force
- the Israeli Air Force, Turkish Air Force
- the Polish Air Force
- the Pakistani Air Force
- the Egyptian Air Force
- the Republic of Korea Air Force

The most powerful would be made in the US eh? well if you're looking for stealth, the F-22, if you're looking for firepower, the non-american eurofighter typhoon.

1) HARRIER-- it has the capability of taking off like a helicopter,possesed by usa and britain mainly and some of the european coutries also.
2)sukhoi--it is owned by america ,india and russia(also developed by russian's) is a superb fighter plane so fast so sleek.
3)f-16--developed by usa and possesed by all of the world a very good example of fighter-jet's it is very popular and fitted with advance equipment and the most biggest plus point is that it can carry good amount of explosives
