I wouldn't tell him.... Is he married? If so, I wouldn't tell him at all. You probably just have a deep crush on him because of his intelligence and age. If he's not married, give it 6 months and see if you still feel the same way... Then you can email him or talk to him in person and tell him how you feel.

Good luck.

If you are in high school, you have your entire life ahead of you. If he is 8 years older than you and you are that young, he could get in big time trouble being with you. If you love him, let him free......if you are totally selfish and you don't care what happens to this man........it's not love.
You may not "feel" young --- but believe me, you are. Even if you felt like you were "in love" with someone who is your own age, the odds of you two being together for the rest of your life at this point are very slim. People change. Your ideas will change SO MUCH even just between the age you are and 21 years old. Leave it alone and move on.

Those are regular happenings.
Be careful the teacher may blow you up. Dont speak of 8 years as only. Go and ask your mom how older your dad is to her.
In short, you can fall in love with other guys, The teacher may never suit you.
Afterall he is employed and you are not and you are so young, he may end up using you and dumping you.
gOODDAY.

Love is the answer to everything. All you ever need is love,
communication and understanding. That's what I figured out so
far. If you are down, you need to get up and start doing something with
your life. Don't need to be shy, be straight forward and allways say what
you want and expect from the others.

Write him a note on the last day. This way he will know and there won't be any chance of him going to jail for something you might be willing to do.
