It's true. When you eat before you go to bed you aren't doing enough moving to burn off the calories. Your digestion also slows down when you sleep so the food moves slower through your body and has more time to absorb. The best rule is not to eat for 2 hour before you go to sleep.

Best to eat a light snack or meal close to bed. The only thing is that people who get alot of heart burn should not eat before bed time. As far as gaining weight that is a myth. Gaining weight is a cause of not enough exercise and excessive calories through out the day.

Sorry most of you that answered. Fact id there is no scientific proof that eating before you go to bed makes you gain weight. Eating is not the problem. What you eat and how much is the problem.

Fats and oils are what cause most to gain weight.
Starches along with a lot of sugar is another problem.

Sugar is not nearly the problem that people think it is.It is what you have with the sugar. KFC and COKE are not a good idea together. The oil in the chicken is a real weight gainer.

Sorry KFC I am not picking on you. I do eat it from time to time. Very spicy please.

No, it isn't a myth. The reason? You are doing NOTHING to help burn it off except for sleep. It is best not to eat anything after 6 PM. or 5 hours before you go to bed.

eating food before bed make you gain more weight BECAUSE at night after food you will go for a sleep and that is again a sense of relaxation.Over sleeping will otherwise also lead to increase in weight.

No, it's a myth. If you eat a Big Mac at 9 o'clock at night you'll still gain the same 560 calories that you'll gain if you ate it at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Yes, of course. Because it doesn't allow you enough time to burn off the calories. Unless once you get in that bed, you and your partner have sex like randy rabbits for hours.

I make it a rule never to eat after 8 p.m., because I got to bed at 11 p.m., having given myself 3 hours to digest my food.

Weight gain is caused by consuming more calories than you burn regardless of what time of the day or night.

It depends what you are eating and how many calories you burn each day. If you eat 500 calories before bed and are a sedentary person, you are not burning those calories off.
